So I ordered a cable from a guy of eBay, he sent it along with ECM Spy, however he sent me an old version that isn't in English wtf? I've now got a cable and version 1.12.27. How can I obtain the more recent one now that it is no longer officially out there for d/l?

EDIT: N/M I figured out the English/German thing, though I'm still curious about versions.

Unrealtrip, It looks like you own an 08. I have heard of a newer version that was being developed for the 08 + ecms but I have never seen it. Not sure if it was being developed by the same guys that made ecmspy, or someone else reverse engineered ecmspy and tried to make it for the newer ECM/s

I think I read something about it over hear

Cool tx guys.

@Towpro: Also cool, it is a shame that ECM Spy isn't just made an open source app, it really ought to be. I program for a living and I'm sure a lot of other Bueller's out there do too. I think we would gladly maintain the code.

EDIT: Wait, this won't work on my 08? DOH

EDIT: My post over there on an Excel spreadsheet thread

http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12699

Mike,

Awesome of you to do this for the community! : ) It is a shame that rather than kill the project the author didn't just make ECM Spy an open source community project, oh well.

Anyway, that aside, I do a lot of programming in Excel, I would love to help out if I can. I'm not sure about all the functions your spreadsheet has, but for example I could make it so you could click a button and import a fuel map from ECM Spy, make your changes, then click another button to export the map in a file that could be imported into ECM Spy.

I could make a floating toolbar for example with those functions, as well as a few other "tweaks" like a button to flatten the lower end fuel map, or some other standard mods and I could also have it make suggested changes automatically based on data ranges.

I also program in C++, but I don't like to reinvent things. If there is anyone with detail on how ECM Spy communicates with the ECM, I'd love to know more. Maybe we can get a new open source program started? Also, this will sound crazy, but it is actually possible to in theory use Excel's VBA to directly connect to the ECM and have it report live data, though I don't know if there is much value in that.

-Tony : )

Tony, I am not sure of the compatibility with an 08 or newer ECMs. It still might have some abilities like reading codes, etc.

It is almost a required tool for 06-07 bikes, because it is the only way we can reset the TPS without going to the Pirate Clothing boutique.

I am sure someone on here can let us know the answer.

There was one for the 08's in the works at the time the project was shut down. Xopti is currently working on a workaround to get them to work.

Gunther used to post here - maybe we can contact him to get the real story behind this.

I had read that Buell/HD was getting on everybody to get them to stop.

Now that Buell is no more - maybe Gunther would reconsider.

Just a thought.

It's a configuration issue it comes up in German by default, one of the keys is a language selection key, just google for the instructions and it will tell you how to set it up.
