Here are the two odometer snapshots from '06 Uly #564:

That computes to:

15,338 miles

Woulda been more except I couldn't get back on the bike until February 6, 2009 (deer strike) and couldn't ride much for a month or so after that (no Spring Break trip).

More miles THIS year!

I need to record my mileages. 12k on my XB, 6800 on my 1125CR, 5000 on my Blast, and 600 on my 1125R. The car got some too.

Between the Uly, Firebolt(sold in Oct.) & TT (bought in Oct.)

I'm guessing 12 to 13,000 miles

The Uly has just over 45,000 miles on the clock and I've had it 3 years 6 months 15 days 22 hours + or - a few minutes.

plus a bunch of laps on MSF bikes during demo's.... but that can't be much

Picked up the Uly end of July, quit riding due to bearing failure end of October
and did 10,000kms (6,000 miles) in that three month span.

Half of those miles were on dirt and off road.

So I averaged 2000 miles per month.

In 2009 I rode:

2009 1125CR = 1145 miles
2008 XB12XT = 4236 miles
2006 XB12SS = 3266 miles
2005 ST1300 = 11,423 miles
1995 S2 = 12,378 miles
1993 FXRSC = 8293 miles

Total miles: 40,741

I also put a few miles on the Old Ladys XB9SL, and of course, I put a few on the truck...

At $3.00 per gallon at 45 miles per gallon 43,741 miles comes out to about $2716 for gas.
Sorry-had my calculator handy.

Paralegalpete,

You don't think that submerging the bearings in muddy/ mucky crap ad anything to do with the bearing failure do you?

Just messing, great picture!

Bartimus,

I don't think I put that many miles on three bikes, an SUV, a Pick up, A car, the wife's car in a year. And I put on some miles!!!

Not to hijack the post, I saw that you Ride in CO by Montrose. I have a friend in Mesa. Have you ever rode Rt. 550 from Montrose to Durango? The Million Dollar Highway.

We do it twice a year. Great ride through Ouray and Silverton, up over Red Mountain Pass.

Hotdog,
water crossing was probably a factor, we shall see how the new 2010 three bearing system holds up.

Hotdog,
of course I've ridden the million dollar highway!

Now my favorite road is from Gunnison thru Lake City down to South Fork.
You should also try riding from durango, to Mancos, up past Telluride, then down to Montrose. I can't remember the hwy number, but it's a great ride also.
Colorado is just full of great roads, and people.
One of the few states I've ridden in, where people pull over and wave a motorcyclist by!

I'm approaching 4 years on my Uly near the end of the month and just over 73,000 miles. I was laid off for 3 1/2 months in 2009 so that hurt my average. Would have been nearly 20,000 had it been a normal year.

Bartimus, ssshhhhhh... we're too crowded with undesirables from other states moving here already.

Really, it is cold and snowy in the summer, and it is rainy and over cast all winter.

Bartimus,

All great roads, I will have to check them out. I have ridden up through Telluride as well. Nice. The homes were a little scary, too big, I would be afraid of getting lost inside one. We have also rode from Mesa to Moab Utah. Not too many mountains, but nice roads winding through the "desert" along to CO river. past a true to life ghost town that the name has eluded me.

The only other state that I have seen drivers as friendly and more over for bikes is West Virginia, Great mountains there and nice people. You have to watch for the logging ans coal trucks there though, they are nuts. They are going as fast as some of the bikes.

Jammin,

I'll drop the subject so that not too many other people find out. After I move to CO in a few years I won't want any one else coming in either.

I got in about 10,000 last year. With the business slowing down and extraneous rides clipped, it was not a great year to get out there. I did make it to the WV Buell Rally, but did not ride all the way to and from, because of family obligations it rode in the back of the pick-up for most of the highway part. The ride from NW Pa to the rally with Dottrs was fun though. I also did Buelltoberfest which is kinda in my back yard.

As a comparison I only did 6,000 in my pick-up and about 15,000 in customer trucks. A slow year indeed.

I may have got to 10 k last year if I count mileage on the TW. Only 7500 on the Uly though. I have to get out more this year. Come on belt, I can't ride without you.

Man, if I lost my job, my miles would skyrocket (though I do understand why people ride less in tight times). Instead, I rode fewer miles in 2009 than any other year. So many things keeping me from my bikes and from taking an annual "big trip": my now-mother-in-law was terminally ill, I got hitched, the wife moved in, we took some summer trips and a honeymoon, we got a puppy, and then the normally docile DC winter weather went to hell.

I keep a log of all my bikes' service events and farklings, as well as mileage done on rental bikes, demo rides, and friends' bikes. It's fun to look back at all the milestones and see what my yearly averages are, going all the way back to when I threw my leg over a bike for the first time in 2004 (MSF training course!).

2006 Uly: about 3,000
2007 H-D Street Bob: about 1,200

Totally depressing. I usually average 6,500+.

Here's to 2010!

On my Uly I did 10,000 in 2008 and another 10,000 in 2009
My X1 I think about 1,500 miles in 2009. I'm trying to slow down on it.

Funny you say that, the only reason I made it to Buelltoberfest 2 was because I got fired, and I traveled using my unemployment checks : D

About 800 miles on my Buell. About 2000 on my Honda and about 6000 on my Harley, no idea about the cars.

Racing took up a lot of my time and money, but...

08 XB12R: Guessing 8,000, traded for my 06 Uly in Oct.

98 S1W: Less than 2,000 (needed a new headerpipe most of the year)

04 XB12R: Race bike. 7 race weekends (1 Solo and 2 8 lap sprints each weekend).

06 Uly: 3,000 or so since Oct.

2009 Uly-6000 miles. Health problems put a damper on my riding. Still managed to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway.

2006 Suzuki M50: 6142 (had it the whole year)
2009 Uly (bought 2/28/09): 17329
Total: 23471

I try to ride the Suzuki most Tuesdays and Thursdays for my commute. If I don't, it tends to spit oil on my boot whenever I walk by. I've found it's never a good idea to make your Suzuki jealous.

The Uly was out of commission for a couple of weeks this summer waiting for Harley service to complete work on it. Darn long 2 weeks!

Yeah, about 10k in 2K9. To be fair, most came from the ride back from picking it up in GA/TN last April, then three trips to and through East Troy thereafter.

Not bad, I say, for having only five months between the last and first significant snowfalls!

Not nearly enough. I generally average 6000 a year on the Uly, this year sucked. I moved in June, and right after that the bike was in the shop for two months with the header detached from the head and the O2 sensor ripped out. Then a failed ECM put me out of commission for another month. So, only 3K on the Uly. I put another 2K on the Scrambler and 3K on the Harley, so my total was only 8 for the year. Way below my cumulative average.

I found time to ride to work almost everyday. Even with moving to the northeast and deploying in Oct I still managed to get 15000ish in since Jan of last year. Dang I love to ride this bike. I'm jones'n for a ride. I guess taking the Gator and the Ranger to chow will have to do for now.
