Let's just see how the MoCo is going to support us. Personal input only, no hearsay stories. Just the facts without diatribe would be nice, I know I'll try.

Sidestand mount bracket assembly, original '06 part #L0152.1AA, superseded by part #L0152.5A8. When I went to order this one I was told "backordered with no release date known."

Luckily I was able to find a SoCA dealer with one in stock to replace the one tweaked when my landlord knocked my bike over.

Ordered the latest drive belt for my Uly on Nov 9. It is listed as special part, on order.

Checked on the belt with my local dealer as I will probably be changing it out at the 10k and keep the old one for a spare. Parts guy told me to give him at least a month's notice.

So the day may come during riding season that you break a belt and you have to wait a month for a replacement?

It's always riding season for me. This is not an encouraging thread.

Bull got hammered with tons of parts orders. Far more than they usually have to deal with and as a result have been caught a bit short. They will catch up.

I was thinking the same, just been trawling e bay several stealers are trying to unload stock at over MSRP. I hope they get it stuck where the sun don't shine.

There has always been stuff on ebay over MSRP. I was looking for forks for my bike, found a pair off a wrecked 03 XB9R for $800. They are brand new a little over $600 retail.

Like a grocery store before a big snow storm, people ordering all sorts of spare parts just in case there is a shortage creates that which they they hope to avoid.

Next comes dealers not ordering replacement parts due to an unusual period of time when owners work through their personal inventory of old parts in their garages. That usually hits about the time suppliers are considering whether or not to continue to make said parts.

<sarcasm> So yes, grab everything you can afford now whether you need it or not so we can get on with this. <no-sarcasm>}

Dave, are you talking accessories, or replacement parts? If HD is supporting Buell parts for 7 years, why would i need to rush to pick up something like, say, the comfort kit, or the three bearing wheel? Do you anticipate these being in short supply, or even unobtainable?

So if you know that running out and grabbing everything could cause a parts supply problem down the line, why encourage it. Wouldn't a dealer want to be able to supply consistently for their customers.

Under seat "stow N go" bag for Uly's. Not a big significant product, but when you want one, you want one. I have found one at a dealer and have to have it shipped. Could have saved the shipping if my dealer could get it.

Jammin_joules, Thanks. I am usually big on sarcasm, but I read your post a few times and wasn't sure. I had a picture in my head of a bunch of Buell owners racing to the dealers to buy up everything in stock out of fear. Not that it isn't happening already.
I just need to loosen up today. I had a tough, humorless morning.

Yeppers, I think I'll be keepin' the ol' Buell close to the house and continuing to ride my Sportster on the long trips. Braking down is one thing, being stranded is another and parts availability is questionable, AT A MINIMUM!

rear axle, rear axle shims. Its covered under warranty, so apparently it needs to come through the warranty field ? ie why am I paying for ESP if they cant get me the parts. I understand the company went out of business...oct 15, but my wait has been since sept 1. If I didnt have other bikes, I would be really Pizzed. But if this keeps up, the XB is gonna get replaced by a Scrambler or a Ural.

Personally I would get the Ural, but I have had the itch for one for a few years now. I had the opportunity a few months ago to get a 07 Patrol cheap, but couldn't afford it as I bought the CR a few weeks prior. : (

By the way the "Sow N Go" bag is a piece of crap . . zipper lasts about a day.

I'd suggest the Klein canvas tool bag now available at Home Depot.

Court,

Thanks, I saw your other post about the bag also. Tourtech makes one too. Do you know of anyone that may have the tourtech bag and it's quality.

The Klien bag, how well does it fit?

The stow and go bag... I guess you could ask, what do you want for $25.00 bucks... You get what you pay for sometimes.

Thanks for the info.

Why didn't you post that two weeks ago! Oh well, maybe I'll be 'that guy' who's zipper NEVER broke on the Stop-N-Go bag!

Remember, I said 'maybe'! lol

Cityxslicker,
Sorry for your problems, Man. That's disgraceful for Buell and Harley if they have not been able to get you an axle since Sept. 1.

How did yours fail? I can't remember hearing of a failed axle? Jumps? Just curious. Thanks, and good luck.

Just be careful with it . . . don't overload it and don't force the zipper.

I finally found a Stow n Go back at a dealer in TX. I had a co-worker pick it up this afternoon. Hope I got one with the racing zipper.
Shoot between that and all the other stuff I've bought as "investments" for the soon to be grandson (hope he likes the patches on his blankee) I've got more shirts than I do after 15 years of owning HD's.

Riding off pavement up devils gulch in Wenatchee. mostly hard pack dirt, some rock crossings, and a couple of streams to fjord, nothing too out landish; nothing I havent done before.
It was 62 miles of dirt, and an all day adventure at a bout 25-30 mph the top speed, lots of clutch work, but the view was amazing.

The bike gave me an unfriendly shimmy the next day. Ending in BFE at repair shop, non Harley Dealership.
