Correction for you - Saab 39. The Saab cars all started with a 9, as this was an indication that its a car, not a jet : )

I've had 5 of them. All bought used. Sold my latest one about 3 months ago to a friends mom.

1975 99. Paid $500. Drove for about a year and sold it for a profit.
1987 900S. Paid $3300. Bought it with 120,000 miles on it and got rid of it when it had 250,000 miles on it.
1988 900 Turbo Conv. Paid $7,500 for it with a trans issue. Fixed it, drove for a year and sold for $11,500.
1993 900S. Paid $4500. Bought it with 115,000 miles on it and sold it when it had 235,000 miles on it.
1992 900S Conv. Paid $2800. Only put about 45,000 on this one (2,000 in the last 2 years) before I sold it to my friends mom. Wasn't driving it enough.

Can't say I absolutely loved the looks of any of them, but they were reliable, easy to do maintenance on and a deal when I bought them. None of them ever left me stranded and the non-convertibles were treated like work trucks.
Oh, among many different professions in my life (one day I'll decide what to do when I grow up), I was a Saab tech for a while.

Ford sold Volvo to China yesterday. Another brand with a high safety/reliability rating.

GM selling Saab is just another example of a dumb ass American company with a typical, wasteful view destroying a great brand without a vision of the future. I have owned two Saabs and they were some of the greatest cars I have owned. Both Harley and GM seem to both subscribe to the knee jerk reaction philosophy of business instead of strong and steady. These companies had no business acquiring all of these different brands in the first place. They should have just concentrated on making their own brands better, instead of trying to run all of them mediocre! I am glad that Harley helped Buell in the beginning but they should have let Eric remain in charge and at least have given him the chance to buy back his namesake company! I love America as much as anyone but this country is F---ed right now! Don't even get me started on the politics!
