I rode today with my summer vented leather gloves, mitts and vest for 45 min, 35deg highway and local with the Mitts They work pretty good!!
(note to self: adjust mirrors before departing, not while doing 80mph cccccold) The tourmaster heated vest is freaking awesome! I just started getting alittle fingertip numbness as I got home, not bad for almost freezing temps. With the heated grips and the mitts I will be nice and toasty!!

mitts

-Tourmaster heated vest w/collar
Next week:
-Heated grips
-FieldSheer 1-pc Cyclone Suit
-ProGrip Reflective Wheel Tape (I still have the grime from the East-Troy-Last-Ride on my rims)

With the heated grips and those mitts you will be able to cook a grill cheese sandwich on each side

My Fieldsheer suit is awesome in cold weather. I love it. Just don't try to walk around in it, unless you're trying to make weight for a wrestling match.

Try wrapping your grips with three strips of bacon on each side(you may have to tape or staple them), ride with the grips on hi, wearing gauntlet gloves covered with XXX large surgical gloves, for one hour thirty minutes. When you stop, you will have the makings for a nice warm sammich! It really makes your grips smell great too! Put the bread between the rear cylinder head and pipe, and the mayo in the top bag, with the lettuce, tomato slices, plates and forks. Don't forget a napkin and your favorite drink!

Oh, ya better keep it under a hundred.....those grips get slippery!

Try to avoid parking near dogs. They like 'em too.

BACON.....I like BACON!!

I think I will put my Hippo-Hands on. Havn't used them since I sold my Yamaha Seca many years ago. Will I be able to toast the mice that have taken up residence? Memories of Tacos in Tejuana.

I rode another 50-60 miles today in 30 degree coldness and I must say these mitts are the bomb. I did get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic miles long and lane-split for about 5 miles. The fan went on for 10 mins. (I don't think there is any law against lanesplitting in jersey) My hands never got cold at all. My heated grips elements are gonna be toasty when I get them installed. (symtec)

Would the Grips and tourmaster heated vest draw too much current on long distance rides?

vest: 52 Watts 4.4 amps
grips: 36 Watts 3 amps
The only other thing I might add is additional lighting (front) eventually.

ahhh...bob... u were being scarcastic.

I have been fit to be tied many times over some of the silly laws in jersey. Now that it is a RED state... there is finally some hope for jersey.

I have been ticketed for splitting in Jersey. Palisades parkway to be exact. Ask Ulynut, Xb12Streetdeamon, and Chums about it, they were all right behind me and got the award too. Got pulled over by a cop on foot : D

Edit: Because we didn't try and flee the cop let us off with something like crossing a solid line, and it was my cheapest ticket ever.

Well... I was "politely" lane splitting, just working my was thru... traffic was going 0-5-10 mph,..I just slipped thru it. Above 20mph I took my rightful place behind the other vehicles. I mean...I was far from aggressive. If I was a cop, I would have let me go... but 4 Hooligans??? no way..I would have ran after u too!! lol

I should have tested out the mitts like you have them with the hand guards on the outside before the snow started sticking around. Riding like that do you notice anything you would want to modify on the mitts? Did you modify anything or just slip em on right to the mirrors?

I put them over the hand guards thinking it would be easier to operate the brake and clutch. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/517737.html?1260129958

But that was probably an unfounded concern and may have ended up making it tighter around the blinker then your setup Xb12xmike.

OK...So that's what they call it here in jersey. I guess it could also be improper lane change. (whiteline crossing) AMA should update their info. I did find this:
http://abatecapemay.com/files/Lane_splitting.pdf

Dmm, I just threw them on asap. I had slight tough time getting the throttle sides' velcro snug (air leak) but I didn't modify anything. I suppose outside the grip might be ideal... They seemed alittle small and I was afraid I would rip them if I tried to put them over the handguard. I got used to the mitts with the turn signal button pretty easily. Yesterday I used my summer gloves in daylight 35-45 deg but had to use my Olympia 4370 Cold Throttle Gloves for the 20's. I think once the heated grips are installed I would be good all year.

more info:
I just opened/unsnapped the guards then put the mitts on as tight as possible. Then swung the handguards closed. I did not cut them for the grip nipple thing either. when I closed the handguard over them, it makes them puff alittle giving better access to controls. I like it. I guess you could poke a hole for the mirror stem and grip. But I wouldn't risk the air leakage.

My mittens, work fantastic w/heated grips, need to stuff a rag around the master cyl to block the wind but i use my "all round" gloves in 30degree temps.
ez in and out, always found heated gloves too bulky.

I have absolutely no idea on manufacturer though,
