I decided about a month ago that this semester is school was making me want to go postal. The plan was the day after I finished my last final I was going to get on the Uly and ride down to Key West and bar hop for a few days, and that's what I did. My little bro and dad came with.

Here's the summary.

Left at 5am, rain for the first 4 hours, car turns left, lock up front and rear in the rain, saved it, flat roads ^5, sleep at folks house, ride to key west, alcohol, alcohol, alcohol, ride to Orlando, alcohol, ride to Pensacola, rain, rain, rain. home.

I'll put up some pics and give a better ride report. But I will say that the Ulysses is a great touring bike. 1900 miles in 4 days, and feel great. The only problems I had were a loose mirror and learning how much fuel not to put into the tank!

Which way do you go? was it superslab the whole way? I've been thinking about a trip from Tallahassee to Key West this winter (possibly between Christmas and New Years). I'm looking into finding a boat to take me from from Marco Island to Key West so I can avoid the slowest/flatest/straightest road in the US.

I learned the fuel thing the hard way too so dont feel bad. One more thing.....you have a headlight out.

Look forward to reading the rest of the ride report.

I did back roads with quick jumps on the interstate to get between them. Worked out pretty well actually. From Tally I headed out 19/98, then jumped on 27 down to Fort Myers. On the way home I hugged the right side of lake O and the did 27 all the way to Tally, 90 after that. I'll do a labeled map if ya like.

What was the original color of your Uly? Looks like it got bleached in the sun!
