I use the mesh shorts under my suit, crack open the vent and legs, then when off open the leg more and it is like ac kicking in.the nice thing about this also is that you are able to shed it all if need be,no butt or leg crimping after the long hours, did not say miles because it has been long years since i went long miles. mesh shorts, shirts at walley world is cheap.this all retains the body moisture needing less to replenish.the impact pads are what is doing the job, after that you ARE the vechicle going down the road.get" twist of the wrist "and practice your drop, some people cannot roll or slide( everything up-looking straight ahead )and it looks ugly when they do.a rag doll thrown about.

Rcf2, I have the waist length air mesh jacket that has a zipper that zips into the pants and goes about 3/4 of the way around. I really like it. Cycleport/Motoport sells more of the 3/4 length jackets without the zipper but I didn't want the bulk.

Someone above wrote that mesh is good but only once. That's true with all the textile stuff but not with this Kevlar gear. I wrecked and though it got dirty it looked new as soon as it was cleaned off. If it can't be repaired they'll give you a new outfit. It is top stuff. They are a great company to deal with as well. Ask for Wayne, the owner, and ask every question you have. Good luck.

My Joe Rocket was a single-use mesh last year...but I'm OK with that.

I'm still here to *be* OK with it, and that's what I focus on. If I hadn't had gear on...I'd probably have been in much worse condition than I was (and I was pretty bad as it was), with more than just the one skin graft from the compound bone breaks. If I'd added road rash to that....

Gear works. I'm walking/hobbling proof LOL. Just don't follow me thru the airport if you're in a hurry : )

I look at mesh gear as "disposable gear" kinda like I look at a helmet. Once down and its done its job.

I need to get a pair of overpants, I wear everything BUT the pants, yep I'm usually in jeans (I know I shouldn't but.....) Anyway, what are some good suggestions for both mesh and winter overpants?

I still say the Olympia is some of the nicest on the market, in form and fit. I also have the "Ranger" over pant. You can wear them easily over street pants when not using the insulated liner, over sorts when it's hot out, or in winter with the insolated, waterproof liner. There are many other pants out there that are as versatile, but none I have seen that are as well made or fit as well.
IMHO

I am just going to the" store "is the kicker, my cousin in so.dakota was ONLY going sown the street(preping his bike for a ride),obviously he did not make it back . by the numbers (and a foggy head) you do not stand a chance with that mind set, near home that is where a large percentage of the "accidents" occurr.
I get lucky every time I ride and I do not like that part of the ride but it goes with the territory but I do not go unprepared .We have too many unqualified drivers, many unlicensed ( 1 city 67 /108 without a license during a safety check)here .YOU ARE INVISIBLE and I keep forgetting it.and all this still leaves the fact that I am not as good as I never was(immortal I wasnot 30-40 years ago).So to sum it up ride safe, think of your loved ones first and RIDE.Lets go for a coffee, its only 89miles to Palm Desert.

some 1200-1300 were pulled over,108 were ticketed, 67/108 were trailered for no license.
