Well I succumbed to the Tiger temptation... with the thinnest of possible rationalization...but it worked! I told my wife I needed a 'spare' in case the Uly leaves me stranded or on parts hold/backorder. It's been to cold to ride much here but a 'seat of the pants' assessment is: the 12X is still my prefered companion above all others. The new 'kitty' is a pristine condition, silver 06 with 3,500 miles on it. Nice machine, very rideable, about as dirt road worthy as the Uly, but a MUCH better tire selection. Doing a 12-15K, 2 month long spring trip. Unless she misbehaves, it will be on an oddly configured, unconventional, frame - with pulsing brakes and rusting muffler. I still think she's BEAUTIFUL! |

Congratulations Jphish. You got it done and done well! The Tiger sounds nice. As a new guy to Uly's I'm still hoping that I won't experience the wheel bearing or brake pulsing problems. Ah, the innocence of youth huh? In this case 'youth', unfortunately, only refers to my limited time with a Uly! lol But, if in that one in a million chance I get hit with pulsing, how does it feel and effect the riding? Ths. and enjoy that new stable mate. |

congrats on the bike, not so thin of an rationalization. My Uly has been in the shop waiting parts under warranty for almost a month now with no end in sight. If it was summer I'd be peeved. I don't expect the bike back til next year |

My Uly has been in the shop waiting parts under warranty for almost a month now with no end in sight. Same boat here, several weeks between waiting for parts and mass head scratching at the dealership AND Buell tech support. I've been riding the Hypermotard every day since; always takes a bit to get used to the fan NOT coming on when I park it. (Message edited by Florida_lime on December 13, 2009) |

Para, what parts are you waiting for? Normal maintenance stuff or serious odd pieces? Sorry you have to wait, I hate that. |

Tiger is currently in my friends heated shop awaiting heated grips and crash protection on order...already shipped and arrives Tue. 1 week from order to doorstep. Just reminds me how inadequate the Buell parts network is. Will post pic when she's road ready. Sometimes I wish the Uly had less appeal to me - but she's just so damn much fun to ride. Thats why she'll continue to have a home. j |
