This is THE best solution to mounting a GPS system on ANY bike, especially an Uly

http://www.telferizer.com/index.asp

It simply replaces one of the handlebar clamp allen screws with a screw that has a RAM ball mount on it. Simple and elegant!

Yep. I have one, and, love it. I'll try to get a picture posted later today. The best part about it is that I never remove the GPS unless the bike is outside overnight. Simplicity at it's finest. Great setup

Jim and/or Longdog:

So, what year is your Buell, and which mount did you get from Telfer?

Jim_williams a pic would be great thanks.

Longdog_cymru i'm sure the telferizer is great but im looking for something a little more secure than the ram mounts (i work in the bronx ,and if it isn't nailed down it disappears)

Here's a really bad iphone picture. Light is really bad in my garage right now. I couldn't get anything to turn out. I'll try to get something better tomorrow.

What I love about the locking touratech mount is that the GPS is very stable, and, I can literally leave it there forever if needed. Like I mentioned, I only remove if the bike is outside overnight in a funky place. Pretty much lives there.

Can someone tell me how to post a picture in my photobucket account here?

copy the "img" code and paste it in the post text box. You'll see the code while you're typing but when you click the preview tab it will come up as the pic. If you're posting several pics, put a space between img codes, it looks a little better.

Finally got off my ass and took my wifes camera out to the garage for some real photos.

I bought this mount used, and, it came with the separate mount that it bolts to, which is great, because it raises the field of vision. When riding, I can just barely see under the GPS and see the digital clock. I can just see all the clocks with it mounted in this position. If I mount the Touratech mount directly to the crossbar, it blocks the clocks, and, lowers it too much. With the extra mount, it raises it up, and, gives me a better view of the ULY clocks. Also, it doesn't force the eye too far down. Quick glance is all it takes

Side view. You can see the lock, and, how it locks down over the standard Zumo mount

Here you can see how the standard Zumo mount bolts into the touratech mount

From behind the mount, through the screen

As mentioned before, I pretty much never remove the GPS from this mount. It lives there. The only time it's removed is if I'm on the road, and, stay somewhere overnight. That peace of mind is priceless (almost) to me. Yes. It can still get stolen, but, I'll take that chance for the simplicity.

If anyone wants anymore pictures, let me know

on a side note does anyone find that the plug for the xm antenna fills with water in the rain and the xm stops working?

I used to have an xm antenna. That never happened to me, but, I also filled the holes with dielectric grease, so, that might be why?

When I bought this setup, it came with the zumo mount shown, so, I have two. My other one, is always shorting out the sound. I would have to lightly press on the gps to get sound to come back. I think it's be cause the pins were prematurely wearing from removing so much. That has never happened with this setup in 2 years, and, about 20,000 miles. I think just because it doesn't get removed.

Mine was a 2006, (although I don't think this matters?). Send Telfer an email and he will sort you out. He is a good man to do business with and he accepts PayPal too.

I don't have a good close-up of the Telferizer Mount on my Uly, but here is the same mount on my friend's KTM. It is identical the the Buell mount.
