I just ordered a WOLO Bad Boy air horn off Amazon.com for 36 bucks to my door. Anyone had one of these? Are they worth a hoot?

By coincidence I found mine yesterday in a box while digging out Christmas stuff, thought I'd lost it in the move last year.

Mine's Italian and looks just like a compact Stebel, and it's louder than hell without the delay you can get from horns with on-demand compressors with hoses.

I bought it for the Uly but I've got too much stuff under the screen and there's not really anywhere else to mount it unless I remove my CA canister and stick it there. I'll probably swap it into my wife's car for the Fiamms, she's a horn blower and will appreciate the extra noise.

X, how much stuff do you have in there?
I have Stebel, horn relay, 2 HID ballasts, 2 HID x-formers, horn relay, garage door opener, and an LED voltage module.
You have to get a little creative.

^^^ NICE!

I don't have near that much but I like to keep everything a little more open so I can get to the wiring easier. Issues, you know...

Maybe I'll rethink it, my wife doesn't really need louder horns anyway.

You're right wiring is anything but open! I did the ground mod, it had the newer wireguide/protector already & all the dash lights are all LED now so there should be little need to get in there. The 4 screws on the horn bracket & 2 on the ballasts remove them fast & exposes most the wiring. I was going to fab a few of those horn brackets but unsure if there would be any interest.

I'm going to try the impossible under my flyscreen. Stebel Nautalis with relay, 1x regular HID ballast, and 2x Compact HID ballasts.

Should go in next week. Wish me luck!

I for one might be interested in that fabbed bracket. Any sense of the cost?

3 ballasts, this should be good! Reminds me of this:

Bracket would run $40 with screws. Building them 1 at a time is labor intensive but if I could move 10-20 units I would build a jig and cut the cost to 25-30. You need to cut the stock horn flange off and drill & tap some 4mm holes, not too hard though. I wired to the acc. socket hot wire and replaced the fuse with a 25A one.

I had it all apart running wiring today, and really don't think it'll be that difficult. the amount of space above the headlights but behind/below the metal crossbar is tremendous! (the space with the blue/red wiring in the first picture in this thread). I can easily relocate the signal flasher and horn relay down there.
