I need some help finding someone to service by Uly here in Northern VA. I recently purchased new Dunlop Roadsmart tires and my HD dealer will not install them, they say because of "liability", I say because I didn't buy the inflated priced Scorpion Sync tires. I also want to change the wheel bearings and fork oil. I already have the parts. Any ideas from other local Buell riders? Thanks John |

sorry, no ideas but that is one of the most asinine thing i've heard of in a while, if the tires are the correct size for the bike where's the liability? i suppose they never install anything but dunlops on harleys |

We're not in NoVa, but about 45 minutes north in Frederick MD. We can take care of you www.buelloffrederick.com. I'm in an airport in Jax right now, but will be back at work tomorrow (Sat) if you have any questions. Or, you can just send me an email or a PM. |

Thanks Ratbuell, I have some friends here in Manassas that exclusively use your shop. I will give them a call to make an appointment. You may know them, Fran and Ernie, they have been riding together about a 1000 years. Such a cool couple. Regards John |

Thanks Rock712, I made an appointment at Frederick HD and I am going to drop off my Uly this afternoon. Should have it back tomorrow. |

I would encourage you to learn to change your own tires. It takes a little to get the hang of it, but it's well worth it. I've changed out two rears and a front now, and each time goes faster. Then, you can order your tires online and do it at your leisure. As far as bearings, I think the HD shop charged me 45 bucks for the labor. As far as fork oil, I wouldn't bother unless you have a leak. |

I thought a special bearing puller was needed to remove the rear bearings. I do the bearings on my dirt bikes, but others have said to leave the Uly bearings to the dealer. |

Pulling is easy as long as you don't need to reuse them. Just whack 'em out, being careful (let me emphasize - BEING CAREFUL) not to damage the wheel where the bearing sits. Installation....tools are strongly recommended, or you can booger your brand new bearings before you put a single mile on 'em. |
