I've searched a couple threads, and have found some like the Touratech bag, what about the Buell bag. There is also a bag made for the KLR that looks like it might work well. Any opinion's? Anyone have the buell bag, or the KLR? Thanks, Gabe | ||

I got the buell bag a couple of weeks ago. No problems with, handy little storage place and is waterproof. | ||

Also, what about Lightning saddle bag on a uly? I have the hard side cases for touring. But was thinking of the saddle bags, for around town use. - Smaller, lower profile, don't stick out as much? Thanks, Gabe | ||

The Lightning bags won't fit. Check out the Cortech stuff, Ft_bstrd sells them. Personally I would just use the topcase and/or the triple tail backpack. They both hold a ton and can easily be removed. | ||

I tried the Touratech bag and thought it was of poor quality. It's not very well made, nor is it very secure. Once I got the deluxe tank bag there was no use for it. I also got the under seat bag from them, and it to is poorly made and already has a hole in it. I did buy all of those items when they first came out in 06, so they might be better now. | ||

Hey Froggy, You notice any difference in fuel mileage with the side cases off? I'm getting 40mpg, and wanting to get better. My late '01 X1 (RIP), got 49 mpg loaded, at 80 mph. I'd like to get 45 out of my uly... | ||

No real measurable difference with the luggage, but my usual 60-65mpg is with no bags. Ironically, my best tank on my 1125CR (53mpg) was with bags. | ||

Foggy I am getting closer. I filled up the tank before leaving to meet the Battlefield Buellers on Saturday, 1.8 gallons for 55mpg. This is with luggage. | ||

I like my Buell handlebar bag...but I think I'm gonna put some velcro *on* the handlebar to keep the bag straps from spinning around as much. My bag keeps getting off-center, and likes to block the fuel door. Other than that, though, great spot for little stuff like ibuprofen, vitamin C tablets, sunglasses, parking tickets.... | ||

You can place the outer straps on the handlebar itself kind of at an angle. (under the wires on the right side) It'll stop the rotation of the bag. | ||

10% Ethanol 93 Octane from name brand stations, usually Sunoco or Shell, depending on where I am when the light comes on at around 240 miles.  | ||

no, no lip balm...but I do still have an aluminum case of matches from BT3 in there. Matches...gas tank...maybe not a good idea? LOL | ||

Somethings got to be up/wrong with my bike. My light comes on at 145-150. I've been using 91octane. Can there really be that much of a difference? My Uly is stock. Had the first service done, and was told the flash was updated. | ||

I don't know how many miles your bike has but until it's got a few thousand on it, it aint broke in yet. My '06 does pretty good. Yours should too once it's run it right. Don't worry ride the thang! | ||

I like the convenience of my Buell handlebar bag, but I have my bars pulled back a good bit, and it's a bit annoying at the gas pump. BTW the Buell bag is obsolete now, so your only hope in finding one is ebay. I also get in the neighborhood of 40 MPG. But that's on winter gas, and with only 2000 miles on it. More mileage will definitely improve fuel economy. My fuel light came on at 145 miles yesterday. Hopefully by next summer I'll be getting closer to 180 miles. | ||

I just got one of the Buell bar bags at Bumpus a couple of weeks ago. As far as on the shelf, it was their last one. Who know's what the Ft man has up his sleeve though! | ||

BTW the Buell bag is obsolete now, so your only hope in finding one is ebay. A friend in nebraska has located the stow n go bag at Frontier HD for me and although the handle bar bag is discontinued Frontier claim many dealers are showing them in stock and will get one for me  | ||

The quality of the Buell bar bag is like their other gear.....pretty damn good. I like it. I would question it's being water-proof though. I have not seen that from any of the other gear from them. But then I didn't read up on it either. There was nothing on or in the package. | ||

I questioned it's being waterproof as well, so before I installed it a gave it a heavy spray down with some waterproofing spray, both inside and out. Should be good to go now!  | ||

I have the Buell bag and it's most definetely NOT waterproof in any way. |
