was zipping along abt 75 and the check engine lite came on for abt 1 second. seemed the engine cut out, but then restarted and ran ok the rest of the way home. never happened before and rode 100 mi + today and no problems. about 27k on the clock. any ideas? |

First thing I would do would be to check to see what code was thrown. |

Check what points? The grounding points? It couldn't hurt to check and clean them. There is a number of things that can cause what happened, bad ground, damaged wire, broken ecm among other things. |

Like froggy says, there are lots of reasons why the light would pop on... But I would start with the basics and work your way up. If you don't have a service manual, I would pick one up. Mine has been very helpful in repairing & trouble shooting. |
