Go Greg, it's gonna be fun. It's amazing to see african culture in real life. Namibia is one of the safer countries of Afrika and they speak English there so you'll know when you are getting robbed I can't speak for Namibia but I worked some years for a south african company and I loved it. Make sure to get your shots, your MD can tell you about this and start taking anti-malaria pills 4 - 6 weeks in advance before departure. Don't take anti mosquito stuff from NM to africa but buy the local stuff when there. Learn a few words Oshiwambo, you'll make friends with the locals (with the right words that is) You will be the oshilumbu there BMW 1200GS can be rented in Namibia. |

After looking at the pictures on Wikipedia I'd say it's just New Mexico with a coastline!! I have a friend that did an African safari and he loved his time there. Sounds like an adventure to me. I would do some research and make sure they have some decent beer though. Hate to get there and find out it's a dry county! I hate when that happens!! |

Hmmm, no light beer? Sounds about perfect to me. Yesterday we kegged 10 gallons of Imperial Stout! It's now in the freezer awaiting forced carbonation. We were drinking it warm and flat last night and it was wonderful. It seems that area of Africa was influenced by the Germans and the British so I'm sure there must be some good beer there. Ok Doc, your mission,if you choose to do it, is to find the best beer in Namibia. After thorough experimentation you must report back with your findings. Good luck Jim.... I mean Dr. Greg. |

Well...as an alternative you could go to the safety of Alaska and watch the Russians like Sarah did. They got lot's of cool wildlife up there,(of which half will eat you or make you into moose antler ornaments) but no Giraffe's. |

Yes ... absolutely yes. opportunities like that don't happen everyday, well, not for me at least. IF Mrs. Greg is ok with it I'd say go for it. |
