Anybody have a way to disable the electrical juice when you key past the fork lock inadvertently? I just don't see the need for that PARKING part of the keyed switch.

No, in that position the switch powers the Aux. circuit, same wire coming out of the switch as the "on" position does for the Aux. circuit.

Maybe somehow the switch could be internally modified though.

I looked at the schematic in the owners manual and thought that was the case. I still no likey.

Would it be possible to disassemble the ignition module and then just modify the contacts?

I accidentally let the key on my Blast on park the other day at work. Good thing tail light didn't kill it in 8 hours : )

I did that shortly after getting my '92 Ducati 900SS. Musta had a better tail light since it DID kill my battery.

And I learned the hard way that you can't bump-start a '92 Ducati 900SS (excited-field alternator, not PM).

The Uly has LED taillights. Hardly draws any juice so you can leave it on for a good long while without worries. I sometimes charge up my phone with the key in aux. position.

The Aux line is powered when you put the key in park. The Euro position light is on the Aux line. Guess what comes one when you start playing musical pins in the headlight connector? : )

I've just gotten used to checking everytime I lock the forks on any bike I've ever owned. I dread the thought of bump starting the Uly!

It isn't hard to bumpstart assuming you are going over 20mph. Below that seems to lock it up regardless of my attempts.

To bump start it takes a little practice. Rolling with 1 driver and 2 people pushing fast. Second gear. Bounce down on the seat as you let out the clutch and quickly pull it back in. You can't just leave the clutch engaged. Has to have a little battery power left for ecm, fuel pump, and injectors.

Thanks, I thought that probably had to be the reason when I noticed my son's ULY didn't do that. I figured a better way to keep both beams lit on his bike. I used a large unused oil filter o-ring from the Yamaha Radian and figure eighted it around the clutch lever housing and it holds down the high beam trigger switch. It stays in place as long as you want and looks OK since it is a black o-ring. To disable it, you just roll it off the trigger. I just hate that parking function on the keyed switch. I have made it a practice to check my headlight when I pull the key. It's actually easier to do that then to see if the tail light is on, especially when the sun is out.
