I searched and searched, and couldn't find anything. I'm looking to add a couple of these small switches to the Uly: Any tips as to where they can be installed? There isn't much of a flat surface in the metal anywhere on around the gauge cluster. Thoughts and pictures would be greatly appreciated. |

I used one of these mini's 35-007 for built-in garage door opener button, spring loaded one way. http://www.gcelectronics.com/order/SubCatPDF/submini%20Miniature%20Toggles%20278-283.pdf and the rubber boot 35-063 for watertightness http://www.gcelectronics.com/order/SubCatPDF/specialty%20switches%20Circuit%20breakers%20312-313.pdf

That's the location I was looking, only on the other side (so my non-throttle hand can operate them easier). It's just not flat, so I was afraid my flush switches wouldn't sit so flush. |

Ft_bstrd had his rocker switch for polly heaters mounted on the left side of the pod. He had posted pictures a few years ago. I have an aluminum plate mounted off the side of my bazootie(thanks again Crusty). I use that kind of rocker switch that came with my polly heaters and a truck type long stem with built in red indicator light for my heated gear. I will post up a picture later if you would like. I don't have one available right now. |

Sorry thought you where looking for a switch. I mounted mine for my heated grips on the left side of the pod. Hard to feel with heavy gloves on. Also when my vest is plugged in to the socket its awkward to reach. I may replace it with a toggle switch. |

I was looking at doing something like this, but never actually got around to doing it.

I put my hand warmer switch on the left side of the pod too, just like it sounds like Ft_bstrd and Sprintex did. The area is rather flat and easy to get at with a roto-zip. I've even got room for one more switch... thinking of putting one there when I mount up some new fog lights. |

I've always thought of adapting one of these Motorola Siren Panels. I have the pin out and the schematic and (at least you used to be able to) you can get different labels.

Heck Froggy- I figured you'd have a direct brain interface wired into your helmet. |

This is what mine looks like. It is mounted between the bazootie halves with automotive windshield adhesive along the cross bar. I have room for one more switch, I may place the plug for my heated gear there to get rid of the loose wire when it is not in use.

I mounted the toggle switch for the fog lights inside the left hand guard through the hand guard's gusset. It's nice there because all you have to do is reach your finger forward off the clutch lever to turn on the aux. lights. It's pretty well hidden there too. If you do this, make sure you start out drilling the hole with a small bit and work your way up to the 1/2" bit. If you start with the 1/2" drill bit, it probably will tear the gusset up. I screwed mine up a little (still serviceable though} doing this on my ULY's hand guard but learned my lesson and my son's bike was done in stages and looks great. Left hand guard because you'd have to release throttle to work a switch on the right hand guard. |

Can you get me pictures of the hand guard switch? That'd be awesome! 4-way flasher switch in the right guard, and aux light switch in the left. Thanks for the ideas guys! |

Mike, I'll take a picture of it when my son gets home from school. It took me some time to find the switch in Ourdee's photo. You need to blow that photo up a bit for us folks with non-telephoto eyeballs. |

Some of the wires go to the hand guard mounted turnsignals. The bigger orange toggle is much easier to operate than one of those flatter type switches that might look nicer but are not as easy to operate while riding when mounted inside the hand guard. You don't have to search for this switch. I mounted the flatter type on my bike but will change it to this type shown in these photo's from my son's ULY.

That switch location is genius! And I like the flat switches for 'aesthetic' purposes, but if it's hidden in the hand guard I don't need to worry about it! A big toggle it is! Thanks! |
