My 2008 Uly has been stuck at the local HD dealer for the past 2 1/2 weeks because of a dead ECM. The dealer says HD has the ECM on back order and just pushed the date back again. Does anyone know where I can find an ECM for a 2008 Uly so I can rescue my bike from the dealer? |

Geez... I wonder if the ECM is one of those "spare parts" we should be keeping on hand... |

Ratbuell thanks for the info. My dealer is checking to see *if* one of the dealers listed will ship them an ECM. Makes me glad I put down a deposit on a Multistrada 1200. I'll need something to ride while waiting for HD to ship parts. |

Keeping a spare ECM has been discussed before, thats not really practical as it would need to be programmed for your bike, the dealer needs the VIN and Odometer reading to do it. |

"The dealer says HD has the ECM on back order" I guess my dealer exhausted the supply trying to get my Uly running... |

This morning, HD told me that the back order is due to a change in vendors. |

A good deal of the steel coming to the United States comes from India . . . a friend has 250,000,000# order for steel electric towers. . . . I suspect you'll soon be seeing another "Indian" motorcycle company . . . . .

Wild guess but there was a thread about the small (Utah?) manufacturer of that ECM a few weeks ago. They might be a source? |

New throttle body, plugs, coil, wires and 2 ECMs, no go. Traded it in today, still not running, for an '09 XR1200 (Message edited by ready2ride on November 21, 2009) |

Best of luck with that XR Ready2ride. I've ridden one twice and really liked it. To me, the best Harley I've ridden, and I like Harleys. |
