From the little teaser snippets Ducati gives, it looks as though they fixed the Multistrada's greatest flaw: the ugliness. Hopefully it's not too pretty to drop in the dirt.

Anyone know if the new Multistrada 1200 will be getting (hopefully) a little more serious off-strada? I really haven't heard anything about the new model. (Maybe nothing to hear yet?)

Could be the 1125 Uly people have been pining over.

"According to Ducati, the Multistrada 1200 is designed for both comfort and versatility. The Multistrada will be powered by the same Testatretta 11 degree engine used in the Ducati 1198."

I was seriously thinking about a Multistrada when I was looking at the Uly. I can't wait to see what it looks like.

There were some spy shots in that Motorcycle.com story that may or may not be the new MST. I think it is. I've been starting to look a little more at this thing, but really should put a couple more years on the Uly and save my money for a rainy day. But really, I don't think I could own a bike with a front end like that. I'll go find a 2009.

Me neither. Then again if it really does turn out to be water cooled I'd be skipping it anyway (probably).

And I have a pretty large desire to eventually own some kind of Italian motorbike.

Just my 2 cents, but it looks like it has the head of an ant...similar to the Tiger's ant-like look. I like the Tiger, but can't stand the front facia. If I wanted to ride an ant, I never would have dumped that anorexic girl in '07.

As one whose knowledge of the Uly engine is second only to the 2V Ducati, I'm a little disappointed in the 4V engine being used for this type of bike. I believe maintenance of the 2V is much easier (and I'm good at it!)

However, they do say that it will be available with the 2V engine. The 4V engine will probably be a big draw for many riders, however. I'm sure it will provide lots of excitement.

I'm sure gonna check it out...

Website's up and running: Multistrada website

Initial thought is "1125 Uly". This may be the next one.

It's pretty trick, with it's pushbutton identity change, altering suspension, power and whatever else on the fly.

Ooooooooohhhh! Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!

Me likey. 150hp, abs, a wet (thankfully) slipper clutch. It's a beholder thing, but I think it looks quite tastey as well. I'd cry if I dropped it, though.

150hp, ABS, Traction Control, and electronic suspension. All things I have been wanting on a Uly for years. Consider me sold, anyone interested in buying a pair of 1125's?

a wet (thankfully) slipper clutch.

Glad to see the Multi will still have a wet clutch with the new engine. They went "wet" in 2007. Besides the dry clutch noise (some like it), they don't last as long as the wet clutch.

Curious to see the pricing. My guess is that it will be close the Streetfighter. Touring model will likely push $20K. We'll see.

Makes me feel really happy that I paid $8650.00 for my so called "UGLY" one when it was 6 months old and only had 400 miles on it.

Yea, but by then Buell would be back and making a turbocharged 350hp Uly : )

Watching the concept video all I could think was that they were describing the Uly... up until they got into that electronic mode thing, which sounds neat, but talk about a bad idea using electronics to control that much. I'd much rather have a couple dials I can adjust to control suspension, maybe a button to limit power if I really need to, but maybe it would make more sense to just put the right engine in the bike rather than overkill it with 150hp...

Just my 2 cents.

Electronic suspensions are fantastic, you can adjust on the fly, and use preprogrammed settings for various environments. Leave it on lofty cruiser mode for comfortable slabbing, press a button and you can get away from those air cooled Buells that showed up out of nowhere during your Dragon run : )

Cops on your tail? Press another button and embarrass them off road.

Goodbye HD, Hello Ducati. This bike looks amazing. The handling should be close to a Uly, with more power. Much versatility and performance, and I am sure that Ducati is more committed to motorcycling than the HD T-shirt corporation. I'll still keep my Uly, but the bagger is gone as soon as I can get one of these.

You know, I have to wonder if Erik and Co. wouldn't have gone through with development and production of an 1125CR-XP (1125XPR?) after seeing what Ducati has come out with here (while the legal department took a little closer look at those patents).

I'm also willing to bet there's one or more 12X's or 12XP's back in the Ducati R&D shed somewhere.

Pods and underslung exhaust? They must be copying Buell right?

"(while the legal department took a little closer look at those patents)".

Are you serious? Are you implying that something was copied? Especially from a Uly? They already had a Multistrada years before there was a Uly. The radiator is behind the fork tubes (1 piece) not in the side covers. Exhaust looks like most other sportbikes with (what looks like) a converter underneath.

I know this is a Buell enthusiasts site, but come on. Go easy on the kool-aid.
