This ( I think ) is "pre-production" but it should be close . . . I've got the actually production BOM and I-Sheet coming.

Well I ordered the parts from local dealer. Ended up being $700.00. He said he could give me 15% off. Had no choice but something doesn't seem right. Anyway, should be getting them in 7-10 days. Pick up the Uly tomorrow. Can't wait.

What doesn't seem right? The side racks themselves are $140 or $170 a piece...when you get into nuts and bolts and all that stuff at a couple bucks' each...it adds up. Kits are always cheaper than lists of individual parts...that's what makes them "kits", unfortunately.

and while I am at it, how 'bout the other local dealer who confirmed a price on the phone and I told him I would pick up the bike the next day to buy it. I took off work, wife took off work, we drive the hour to get there and the dealer had a new $2000.00 higher price. And to boot the bike had no ECM. It was faulty and they sent it back without letting me know that before hand. I walked out. Don't tell me I don't have a right to question prices. Maybe you are an honest man but don't be pretentious. This has not been a great experience since Oct 15th. Out of the five dealers I have been dealing with 2 of them I almost cracked across the face for trying to f*ck with me. The other three were exceptionally customer friendly.

I was referring to another post where someone had listed the total at about $500.00. No big. The parts guy placed the order without contacting me back like I asked so that I could hear the price. I had no idea what the price per piece was other than what was listed on here. Like I said, it didn't seem right but I paid the price and that was it. Yes I understand about kits being cheaper. but tanks for the insight. Jeese. I am getting somewhat tired of consumers having to stick up for themselves on here for trying to get a better price. Times are tough for everyone not just dealers. How would you explain me just trying to order the Tuono mirrors from a harley dealer who also is an Aprilia dealer. He quoted me $42.00 dollars a mirror. They are $16.00 a piece. Should I have bent over and just accepted that price? Luckily I knew the price before purchasing. One time when i was 18 years old I was going buying my first car, with mostly my own money that I worked hard for. After I test drove it the dealer came out and presented me with a type written index card with a price that was $500.00 more. I bought it anyway. I later found out that I got screwed and it was just a scam. Long story short that was the last time I was the uninformed consumer. Being an informed consumer is how I do business. Unfortunately I do not have access to prices for those parts or I wouldn't have posted in the first place. Have a great rest of your day Ratbuell.

Folks just want to be treated fairly . . . it's prompted me to two small outbursts in the last 24 hours . . one buying a car which I wrote about.

And then yesterday . . . I go to ship a Ulysses rear wheel and axle that I sold on e-Bay. I take it and a Gibson guitar, both all packaged up, to UPS. The dude tells me $75.00 Each . . I about crapped, walked out, went to the Post Office and sent them both for $42.00.

All I want is to be treated fairly.

Sorry to come across as sounding "unfair"...wasn't my intent. I'm just hacking around bwb until my battery dies here in Key West on vacation so I haven't seen the $500 thread. I just know that I don't own Outdoorsman racks for my Journey-equipped UlyX because they're expensive. Thought about it just to move 'em back a bit and have more legroom for Kim...but the money put it on the back burner (that, and she told me "no big deal" - she needs to spend more time on her M2L anyway LOL).

People want to be treated fairly. *I* want to be treated fairly. It's human nature. I guess I tend to rile easily though, it comes from hours and hours and days and days on end in a dealer, answering "why won't you give it to me for nothing" questions.

Sorry you were mistreated at dealers, that sucks no matter how you look at it. I have a customer who may be saving $1k...because I can't type. I typed a 5 instead of a 6. My bad, I'll honor it. Best part is, my boss will too.

Right now though? I'm off to Mallory Square for sunset : )

Eurotech Motor Sports shipped my H&B bags for the sweet sweet price of $72.00. They use UPS. Never gave me the shipping cost during the deal. Said it shouldn't be much. RIGHT. Nothing I could have done about it. No one else sells them. When they came the boxes were trashed I immediately took pics with the camera and called them. I told them that I was not opening the boxes unless you give me authorization first. I offered to send the pics to his phone. He said go for it and we will send you new ones if not good. They were perfect. Called him back and thanked him for his time. $72.00 later

I have the money for the Outdoorsman racks and the Three Juniors because I was ready to happily pay retail for the Ulysses. I was originally going to buy a Uly in January. When shit hit the fan Oct 15th I really got scared that I would not be able to get the bike that I wanted. I researched and called dealers for a week and half. Had a couple of crap outs. A somewhat local dealer called me and told me they would honor my offer a couple weeks ago. I took it. Everyone is happy.

Thanks Froggy. I already ordered as of Thursday. I did order the reflectors. Thanks for the time it took you to post. I bought the Uly today. I am very happy with the bike. Very smooth shifting compared to my 2006 XB9SX. But the back brake on the Uly is non existent. The City-x had much better feel to the rear. No big the front is where it is at. LOVE THE BIKE> Thanks Erik and the Elves for such a great invention::::: THE Ulysses.

I know it's the same but it (city-X) just felt liked it grabbed somewhat where this doesn't feel like it scrubs off any speed.
