Recently replaced my broken primary cover due to a broken piece. I thought that would fix the funny feel in the clutch control, but it still feels a little weird. It feels like it isn't activating all the way. Is this just psychosomatic, or could there be something about to give? Shifting feels like I'm not pulling the clutch in all the way, so I've been going really easy on it. |

Is the clutch dragging while in neutral or slipping while in gear ? If you haven't already I'd try adjusting the clutch to make sure it's set right. If it feels wrong nuff for you too shift/ride easy then something is not right. |

What did you do with your broken primary cover? Where was it broken? |

Don't forget to check your cable ends. I've got a Triumph that loves to chew them up. Out of nowhere, it'll be as you describe. On mine, the clutch lever will suddenly feel "soft", like you're pulling on a spring, and, as you said, it doesn't feel fully disengaged during shifting, take-off, etc. Hope this helps! |

There isn't any slipping. It just feels like it isn't fully engaged when activated. I don't see any unusual wear on the cable ends. When you say adjusting the clutch, are you talking about the adjustment where the cable/clutch ramp are located? The primary cover broke where the clutch ramp sits. One lip came off completely, and the other was cracked about half way through. |

Ok not to insult your intelligence here but Im just covering the bases. When you reinstalled the new cover did you go through the complete process "by the book" clutch adjustment? To me it sounds like the adjusting screw on the clutch isnt tightened properly. At times it can seem to be a tedious process to make sure you have enough play in the cable prior to adjusting that "adjusting screw". If that sounds like it may be a likely culprit then go back through and do everything step by step in the book. |

I did everything by the book, but that doesn't mean I did it correctly. Seems a likely place to start looking, though. |
