any simple/quick way to lower a 09 uly an inch or two? a new sebring exhaust for a 07 xb12ss can it be adapted easily? guy wants only 100 bucks. | ||

well there are a couple easy ways to get an inch. There is a lowering kit for $319 IIRC Ive been toying with the idea of putting on a TT shock and dropping my forks in the tree. | ||

Sebring exhaust? Never heard of it. Anyway any exhaust for a XB12 will fit. | ||

You can put on a TT rear shock or an XT rear shock (which lets you keep your nifty remote pre-load adjuster). You have to put bar risers on in order to have room to drop the trees on the forks. Precision Engineering (Badweb sponsor) makes those. | ||

There is a lowering kit available from HyperPro its a 25mm drop kit (so almost exactly an inch). I wasnt too impressed with the customer service so i didnt order from them at this point. Ive been looking at the setup. But I think am just going to drop my forks in the tree since I have the bar risers and have the clearance. I am also planning on sending my rear shock to TSE and have Scotty work his magic on it. | ||

There are differences in the Uly exhaust compared to other XB12s, to clear the sidestand. The muffler outlet tip can hit a raised Uly sidestand. Either make sure the muffler you're looking at is for a Uly...or prepare to live with the possibility that your sidestand could hit it. | ||

Also the front forks have a circulra spring clip near the top that needs to be removed I would think. | ||

Yeah the "stopper ring" does have to be removed to slide the forks up in the tree. I would suggest using a caliper to measure out the exact same distance above the tree on both sides so that you dont have issues trying to thread the axle once its all said and done. DAMHIK |
