I wouldn't worry about that belt. Whenever there is a need and money can be made, someone will fill that need. I don't think it would be a problem for Harley to keep a good supply of those belts on hand or have them made in batches when the need arises. Uniroyal or whoever makes the ULY belt will be able to make them. I'm just blowing smoke here but I'm not sweating about those belts.

Probably isn't the same but the XR1200 Sportster has the same idle pulley and has the same size back wheel. Is it possible that it has the same belt? If you look at the XR1200 you'll notice that it also has an adjustable axle for adjusting the belt tension.

Will it fit? Still investigating.

Stock final drive on the XR1200 is 68 rear sprocket/28 front, or 2.43/1.
The Uly is 65/27, 2.407.

There are 135 teeth on the Uly belt. I can't find anything online about the XR belt tooth count.

surely the aftermarket parts dealers are reading this and many other buell forums thanking HD for the huge mistake they just made , a supply and demand minded company could stand to make some serious money if they felt so inclined to A. purchase part blue prints and copy rights from BUELL / HD or B. find a way to manufacture BUELL replacement parts , but im just thinkin out loud here , lol , we can only pray!!!

I can get every single part for my Norton Commando, and they stopped making those over three decades ago... in fact you can actually get "new" Commando's built from scratch to almost any specification you desire in terms of year, model, etc.

Not too worried about Buell parts in the long haul. If the bikes are worthwhile, the community will find a way to support. Just my 2c.

Cheers,

- HJ
