Hey thanks Froggy...yeah if Jeremy hadn't already taken FB....maybe Fat Chinaman is still available? I actually 'skooched' back to the passenger seat on the ride home and noticed...hey this is how it used to feel like....plus the fabric around the edges are wearing through... |

I could pad 'my' seat with cheeseburgers, but my doctor would rather I didn't! |

hey so anyone want to swap out their 06 with an 07 stock seat? I've got a black/black one that has barely seen my butt...and if you're within 200 miles of me....heck I'd ride out (Message edited by sekalilgai on October 28, 2009) |

And Ken...your bike is now orange, right? So, either seat would work for you? Just trying to help potential swappers to know what you can use...me and my lanky ass, I'm keeping my tall seat! |

I'd be happy with black/black...it is a bear keeping the orange panel not look like I wipe my hands on them....(not that I don't) |

ah. I just leave my tripletail down. Not like anything else on my bike is clean anyway, LOL Another thought I had (about 3/4 of the way through my 2k mile / 5 day stint earlier this month) was getting one of the $6 memory foam Coleman camping pillows from WallyWorld and using it as a 'travel pad'. Might still do it... |

It has been superseded so it looks a little different... How so, just out of curiosity? |

The tall one at Buell Parts is the identical 06 I believe. Just got one myself. |

Joe...good idea, I stuffed one of those foam pads they sell at your favorite hunting store (for tree stands and such) under a sagging seat before and it help. I find the memory foam a little soft, great to use to fill in gaps in the helmet liner though... |

What are the advantages/disadvantages of the 'tall' seat over the others, like my 08'XT's? Ths. Mike |

None. Every ass is different, so some find it more comfortable. I prefer not needing a step ladder to mount a bike. |

Adding to Froggy...us leggy types like to ride taller as it curves out our low backs to handle the long rides better...more comfy the more our legs hang. Why cruisers just amaze me...how can a guy round out his low back with legs forward and then pound his discs? Only the young... I sit up so posture is right and the spring curve of my low back is centered square on the discs. I can last much longer on a long ride. The low seat is nice in town though. |

Ths. Froggy and Eulysses, How tall are you Eulysses, and what is your inseam? I ask because I am 6'1" with a 33/34 inseam and I, new to sport bikes, find I'm leaning forward a bit and getting shoulder pain. I'm working on sitting up straighter! I have read that the Tall seat is more comfortable on long trips but wouldn't it make me lean even more forward? I'm considering risers to give some adjustment flexibility but I don't know what that would do to handling. Any thoughts? Ths. Mike |
