If the yellow check engine light is blinking and the code indicates BAS as the offending component - is there any way to reset it without having to go to the dwindling supply of Buell dealers ? This happened to Pnw uly after our ride on Sat - we can all attest he was upright the whole time - (not true for all of us however) |

Turn the key from on to off and then back. If that doesn't reset it, then your BAS is malfunctioning and should be replaced. |

Jerry - Yeah, he took it in yesterday - they 'reset' BAS. Whatever that means. He said it's no longer blinking at him. Froggy - Thanks for the tech help and quick response. |

Perhaps they mean that it got loose and they readjusted it to be pointed up? |

Problem solved - - so far anyway; and thanks for the post John. It did flash a few times during the ride, and I wasn't sure if it was due to my recent auxiliary light install (Motolights - 35W) overloading the charging capability while running lights, GPS, and heated grips... Later in the afternoon it started flashing a bit more frequently, and for longer duration, culminating with staying on for about 3-4 minutes while I was on I-5... But, it was reset yesterday (warranty) and no flashes on the commute this morning. Thanks for the info, Froggy; if it comes back on with the same fault code, I'll make the dealer change the BAS sensor. "This happened to Pnw Uly after our ride on Sat - we can all attest he was upright the whole time - (not true for all of us however)"} Well I might have kept it upright through the ditch (it is an XT, after all), but I'm the knot-head that thumbed the kill switch while reaching for the grip heater button once we left the parking lot... Oh! Thats what happened. I was wondering why you decided to stop in the middle of the road?... But you did stay 'upright'. Darren - somebodys got to have some pics of us. We should expect a blackmail letter soon, with photo's. I'd just claim we were practicing our freeform acrobatics training for the Evil Knevil cyclathon. |

Natexhl - Now that you mention it, the Service Rep mentioned that they reset and "tightened" it, so maybe it was loose - - and that's a real possibility after my light wiring project and comfort kit installation... Thanks again. |
