Pnw uly and I have been discussing the possibility (not to be confused with advisability) of a trip to ETroy. My Meteorologist pal & wife both responded: 'Are you serious". (Those aren't their exact words, but you get the drift) In light of the 5 mountain ranges, 2000 mi & weather prospects, we decided to show our solidarity by meeting up somewhere in western Wa on Mon the 26th. Details TBD. I could contact Legend Buell in Renton to see if they would be willing to let us use their parking lot as a rendezvous point. Still in the nascent stages of planning, and open to other ideas. Just gauging the interest at this juncture. Perhaps there is some way to utilize IT technology to send a live web / pic message to our cohorts in Wisconsin ? Anyway - whatta ya think ?

Jpish,

Great idea. I could be up for that. As long as I don't get snowed in up here in Canada.

Guess the "Next Best Thing" from being there to support the Buell employees in East Troy is to get together and ride these great bikes! I'm in, and hopefully we can make it a couple-hundred-miles-day of riding out here...

Jphish, Sounds good to me, just a FYI, Legend is in Wenatchee and Downtown Harley is in Renton. What time were you thinking? I work about 10-15 minutes from Downmtown Harley in Renton.

Great Dave & Darren! The more the merrier. OOPS! - PnwUly reminds me that HD/Buell is on their winter schedule, consequently NOT open on Mondays. So we will stick to the date but set up something to meet elsewhere in Tacoma area. I will also propose some ride options that will be subject to other / better suggestions any of you may have. Stay tuned. j

I would be in, if the ass half of my bike was not attached to the bike ....
(lost rear axle, bearings, axle shims, belt, belt guard, a tire )

I am seriously going to have to quit riding this thing off road. : |

Damn 'city' - you need to jump on one of those new 'collector' Ulys on sale. Sorry you won't be able to make it. For the rest of you - we plan to meet sometime Mon morning somewhere around Tacoma. Pnw uly has already proposed a few rides - Peninsula loop, Columbia River loop, or E wa adventure. Your input / ideas welcome. I will plunk around on NOAA sat for weather forecast and provide options for your review / consideration. We can decide Sun exact details. OK with you folks ? In typical 'adventure mode - we're going - just not sure where yet. j

I might be able to ride along. I have the will, my bike is running, and Monday is *usually* my day off from work, but there has been some craziness at work recently so I will have to wait until the schedule comes out.

Packdog Ron - you'd certainly be welcome if work schedule allows. The good thing is, with ALL of us on Uly's...we'll run out of gas about the same time. My riding partner has a GSA - 7 gals I think - always sitting & watching as I fill up. j

I'da seen you in Tacoma, but the stars have aligned --

I'm flying from PDX to pick up a pearl yellow 1125R from a dealer near East Troy.

The trip back's only half the trip there-and-back... right? : )

I'd like to say 'sorry' Marinus but,let see... picking up a new 1125? or riding for a day in the rain? You'll be missed, but I think you made the right choice. 'City' - will do. Going to look at NOAA prognostication Sat morn and suggest a meeting place & route. Will broadcast message on this thread. Hopefully BWB site will stay up. j

John-

Me and my gf are tossing around the idea of a ride for saturday. (the weather geeks say it will be a dry day)

Have ya'all got a plan yet?

If we go, I have a route I created on my GPS that might interest everyone. It is 148 miles long and has 110 turns all connected almost completely with twistie county roads. (no interstates, and only about 15 miles of state hwys).

The route also includes:
>Stewarts meat market (mmmmmm jerky)
>a road that passes right through the Centralia coal power plant
>a dam
>an OLD tavern with a creek flowing through it
>a short section of gravel (10 miles)

Of course, if you already have a plan for a route, we would be good with that also.

Debueller, that sounds like a great ride, I would be up for that as long as we left early enough. I would have to be back in the Lake Tapps area no later than 5:00 PM to make it to Seattle for the Sounders FC game. Might be able to get a couple other Uly riders to go. It looks unlikely that I would be able to make the Monday run do to work commitments.

Oooops! After reading John's posts more carefully, I did notice he was planning for a monday ride, which we can not make. (ya' know, work and all.....)

However, Darren you and any one else would be welcome to ride with us on saturday. As to not step on John's thread, We can pm the details......

Maybe next time, John.....

Jerry - No problem adding options to this thread (Not'stepping on'... but rather enhancing) Have a wedding this Sat but, what time you leaving and where are you meeting? If it's early enough I may be able to join in for all, or part, since you're close to my neighborhood. Sorry work will preclude your attendance Mon - I've been craving a BLT lately - must be swine flu that should hit about Sun nite. Good to hear from you - j

Hey David - It may be a really small group photo OP. (Does 2 constitute a "group"?) I think it maybe just Pnw uly and I - CityX may show up for the send off. Do you have a waterproof camera? Weather & work conflicts have significantly reduced enthusiasm. I'm going anyway & I'm pretty sure Pnw uly is 'in' as well - come hell or high water...probably the later. Not sure where we're going to meet up yet - if there is a 'dry' spot that's likely the direction we'll go. Hope you can at least make it for a cup of coffee somewhere. Regards, j

OK saturday riders, here is the plan:

We will meet on saturday, at 9 o'clock, gassed up and ready to ride, at the park & ride lot in Bonney Lake. It is behind the Wendy's and Chevron at the top of the hill on hwy 410.

>Kickstands up at 9:15<

The ride will generally take us southwest towards Orting, Yelm, Mckenna, Centralia, and end in Monesano.

Anyone with a Zumo GPS is welcome to load the route from my Zumo via a SD card, which I will have with me.

Anyone that needs to bail part way through the ride will easiely be able to find a highway not too far away, near Olympia, Centralia, or Puyallup.

I'll be on my Uly, my gf on her Blast, and my sis on her KTM 990 adv. Hope to see everyone that is interested in going!!

Jerry - Sounds good. I will meet you @ the park & ride @ 9 in Bonney Lake & look for a group of Hooligans on Buells. I'll tag along until my clock runs out (about 1 PM) Then I will depart for home. Hopefully the fog will lift both on land and my head sometime during the adventure. Chow' j

Hey David - I'm confused after I reread your email nestled in amongst all the chatter of 2 different events. Are you showing up for Sat (tomorrow) Hooligan adventure or Monday 'solidarity ride' ? Still havent picked a place for Monday yet - was going to use Sun morn weather forecast to make our best guess on a 'dry spot'...though not sure there will be one. Pnw uly and I decided to go Monday rain or shine, snow of course would modify our plans. I will post the 'plan' on this thread Sun Morn. If you have any ideas / suggestions, chime in. Hope to catch you at one place or another. Chow' j
