We finally got out of town last week for a trip down south to Sonora Tx and I took my 2007 Uly, the first outing for us as a couple.
Total trip distance was 625 miles and the bike was great in every way- handling, comfort, passing power, the whole riding experience was excellent and more than I expected.
Except... There was an issue with 15-25 knot winds. I'm accustomed to bikes with fairings and more forward lean than the Uly has and it was a struggle to cope with being blown about on the bike with the upright riding position, stock windshield and oem handlebars which to me are rather high and wide. However the bike itself was very stable requiring only minor corrections to maintain a straight line of travel.
So I've ordered lower bars from American Sportbike and hope that getting down out of the breeze a little will help.
Still, I'm beginning to understand the universal appreciation of the Ulysses and all the favorable comments written here.

Advice I got here that worked for me
#1 Jack up pressure in rear tire > 40psi (I use 42psi)
#2 Adjust suspension to the manual then increase front pre-load one ring & decrease rear preload as tho you weighed 25# less
#3 Cinch up your clothing
#4 Relax you grip
#5 General (but not universal) agreement that Dunlop rear tire sux - Mine had a tear so I replaced it - Not positive it helped as I did all the above too (I really like the Dunlop front w/ the rain groove)

I am very happy now

I added a Laminar Lip with much better results with the wind. Stock stinks.

The wind thing is custom to your height and inseam and which seat you use...and what you like. Lots of threads on it. Good idea on tire pressure. Liked that one.
