I am thinking about putting a Drummer on my 2010 XT, but I am concerned about that making the bike run leaner. My understanding is that there isn't anything like a Power Commander available for my Buell and I don't want to make the bike run worse just so I'll like the sound better. Could someone educate me on whether a Drummer will adversely affect the way my Buell runs and if there is any way to tune it.

it shouldn’t run any leaner than the stock set up – the ECM adjusts the A/F mixture automatically.

There's a wide band sensor that some of the guys on... http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/index.php ...are using:

LC-1 Wideband Controller

Personally, i think our/hour/are/r bikes are set up waaay too lean for an air-cooled engine and that turns them into a heat pump. The flipside is that the MPG is great, because of it.

Here's the correct LINK for the LC-1 install - very interesting:
http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.ph p?t=8188

Quote from the thread - ""Now here is the really cool part. Because the LC-1’s Analog outputs are fully programmable
you can trick the ECM to think it is running at 14.7 & it is really running at 14.0, 13.5, or any other AFR you chose.""

Also, you can run one of their gauges (analog or digital) and see your AFR in real time.

I'm also looking for a way to optimize the a/f ratio on my 2007 Uly. It's running lean down in the 2000-2500 rpm range for sure and needs some work. Plus I want to have Odie do the Spec Ops treatment on the muffler so I'm sort'a up the creek for now on which way to go.

That's interesting about the LC-1 and I'll look more into that.

The ultimate is to have a good dyno operator with an EGA to do the tuning under load conditions and monitor as he tunes.

Johnboy,

I'd like to try that custom EEPROM if you don't mind. Are you running a stock intake and exhaust?

John, I appreciate the offer. Unfortunately ECMspy closed down before I could get a copy and I'm waffling about whether to try to find the program, and get a cable and laptop or go another route.

I'll work this out when cold weather keeps me inside.

And thanks again.

"I'm waffling about whether to try to find the program, and get a cable and laptop or go another route. ""

For $50 (the cable) I think its a no-brainer.

There is a thread here with regard to ECMspy (the software) - or go to Buelletinboard.com and pick up a copy..just ask around.

If you own an 06-07 XB at this point in time - this is one of the best things you can do right now.
