I'm away from home and don't have my owner's documents.

Is the battery warranty pro rated or full replacement? I'm at 22 months.

Thanks

Pro rated if you buy over the counter, but full 2 years if its the battery that came with your bike.

Just in case it helps to know this.. I'll share.

I'm 90 miles from my nearest dealer which is where I purchased my XT last Friday. Anyways the battery took a crap most likely from sitting on the showroom floor for too long. It charges alright but fails a load test and won't do anything but constantly click the starter cullenoid. I knew that when taking the bike in for warranty replacement, the shop would want to double check the charging system (I want them to double check it as well) so I went and bought another battery to get me back to the dealer. I was surprised after talking to the service manager that with a receipt showing the price of my new battery, they can give me store credit instead of the normal exchange of batteries. I'm sure that the new non-HD battery won't be warrantied if it fails tomorrow, but I'm not too worried about that since it's performing flawlessly so far and will be kept on a tender any time the bike isn't being ridden.

Thanks, good to know. The 'Buell' shop here in Sierra Vista shows no outward signs of anything Buell at all. I actually had to go in and ask if they were really a Buell shop.

I'm taking the Uly in tomorrow. The charging system puts out a healthy 14.5 v and the battery will charge to 13+, but when starting I usually run into a low voltage reset of the clock & tripmeter. The speedo and tach do a second sweep as well. As near as I can tell, voltage drops to about 9 during startup.

I'm hoping that they replace the battery on the first try.

Turns out that the battery warranty is only ONE year, even though it is the battery that came with the bike. If I'd looked, it actuall states so right on the battery's label.

$94 is not too bad a price for the new battery. I just was not thrilled to pay $50 for someone else to tell me that I needed a battery.
