Why is my son's 07' smoother than my 06' in terms of vibration? Any thoughts?

One of the cures for the 06 was to install the 07 maps etc. I tried this and the bike would not even start so I just started playing with the fuel map and it helped a lot but still not perfect. Many did this and it worked great so I don't know what I was doing wrong but after three tries I quit. If you pull both maps out you can compare them to each other and see the difference. I'm assuming you have ecmspy.

Primary chain adjustment? I've noticed a loose primary chain can make the bike feel much buzzier.

I've worked for an engine manufacturer (not motorcycle) before, and one of the most common causes of this is production variances. Some parts, by chance, are just better balanced than others, or "fit" together better. We had processes in place that actually "matched" parts to each other for final assembly.

If the vibration difference is more than slight, though, I'll bet (warning - I'm new to Buells) your throttle bodies are not synced as well as your son's.

Now I would wait for someone who knows what they are talking about to chime in!

The primary on mine probably does need a wee bit adjustment. I've noticed that downshifting takes more effort to get it into lower gears. I'll give that a try. Both bikes run great.

Not an issue with the air cooled Buells -- all have a single carb or throttle body. But I like your thinking; that could be an issue with the 1125's as they have twin throttle bodies.

Slap a new front isolator on. I rode Etennuly's 06 with 42k miles, and it felt like a brand new bike!

Froggy,
Is that an upgraded part with new elastomer or something?

Oh! I thought this was an 1125 question!

Doh! I'll be damned! There IS only one throttle body on my Uly! Should have spent more of these rainy days getting to know her better.

Only three weeks as a Buell owner and already a walk through the hall of SHAME!

The part number hasn't been changed in a couple years, so as far as I know its still the same thing.

The isolator is the same as it has been. There was a part number change a while back, but that was making it a 'kit' that included the bit mount bolt.

If yours has the original at over 20,000, take a good look up into the webbing that is the rubber isolator. They just plain wear out. I am on my fourth replacement.
