Well, I finally did it. I passed the 20K mile mark on my 07 Uly yesterday. All I can say is I love this bike. It does everything I need it to do exceptionally well. Whether it's riding around on the miles of dirt roads we have up here, ripping through the twisties, or loaded down and 2 up for a long weekend with my wife, this bike just does it all.

I just did a 300+ mile day yesterday that included the Kancamagus Highway, Bear Notch Road, and Hurricane Mountain Road in NH. The odo rolled over the 20K mark just after crossing the Kancamagus Pass. The fall colors were exceptional and the bike, as always, ran like a champ. Knock on wood, but in 20K miles, the only issue I've had (that wasn't self-inflicted ) was a leaky fork seal. Of all the little quirks I think this bike has (the fan, key hidden under the left handle bar, clunky transmission), there's not another bike I would own today unless it were in addition to the Uly.

BTW, for those of you in New England, Bear Notch Road has been resurfaced end-to-end! If you have a chance to ride it before it's closed for the winter and when the Leaf Peeper population is diminished, it is definitely worth the trip.

Hit 20K on my '08 this week : ) Had it for 17 months.

I've had my car for almost eight years and it only has 28K!

Dad4,
That is some serious mileage. How has your mpg changed during those miles?

I just passed 30K on my purchased new '08. August of '08. Been seen on both coasts. Loved the west, got schtupped in the east - figures. Commute every day (nearly). My soon to close Harley shop has kept me going through the sniffles and wheel bearings. It is just the best bike out there as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, my beloved Riverfront Harley Davidson is closing in December - it is going back to the Mothership in Topeka. It's a blow, but that's the way the economy goes.

Anyway. My next bike will be a Buell. That's if I can ever find anything that I don't like about my '08XT. Still don't use the comfort kit. Never had a problem with heat.

I have a problem with the heat, NOT enough of it these days!!! It was in the low 30's last night when I rode it home.

If Buell makes a kit to blow hot air on my left leg like it does on the right side, I'm going to buy it!

Well, I finally did it. I passed the 20K mile mark on my 07 Uly yesterday

OK, it's now officially broke in so go and ride it!

The times I have checked the mileage, I have gotten around upper 40's to low 50's @ speeds anywhere from the speed limit to 90mph. My bike loves to run around 80 for some reason.

As for Cold weather I have a set of Old Harley mittens, combined with the heated grips my hands do not get cold even in 20 degree weather.

My riding buddies have a 1 piece thermal suit from First Gear. They call it a Miracle Suit because it's waterproof and extremely warm. I just ordered one and I'll let you know how it works.

I would not ride the ike this summer because of the extreme heat on my right leg. But, once I had the comfort kit installed, it felt like a new bike.
Oh and my new conti road attacks helped to. They let me go faster to keep everything cooler.

I have passed 15,000 on my 08XT Purchased in July of 08. Aside from a high idle issue that was corrected by the dealer under warranty, I have had no problems. The bike runs great and is loads of fun. I would not hesitate to take the bike on any long trip. After installing the comfort kit (but no flash), it's even better.

I would buy another Buell if I had it to do over again.

I installed conti road attacks about 500 miles ago. I think they handle much better than the stradas. So far I really like them. We will have to see how the mileage goes. I would get about 7K on the the rear strada.

I hated the Pirelli's. I love them on my dirt bikes though. But,Every time I went through gravel or something like that, the bike would dart around everywhere. That scared the crap out of me, but the conti's are bone solid.
I have about 2000 miles on them right now.
WHo knows when they start to go bad, they may go bad fast?
But I'll put another set on.
