Would it be possible to swap the Uly front end, rims, and rear shock onto a 1125cr?

Liquid cooled, 6 speed, upright ride, wind protection (sort of) ....

Any thoughts?

There will be plenty of naysayers here but I for one think if you've got the balls then just do it. If you think about it, one big difference between that 1125 and the ULY is ground clearance and that would be remedied with ULY forks and shock. I know that Dillon Brother HD/Buell (Omaha, NE) has new 08' 1125R bikes for $7995. Change out the forks and shock for another $1500 and you got a water cooled Buelly for around 10 grand. Now that would be a sight to behold. What we need is for someone to photo shop one together. I think that has already been done but it would be nice if someone could repost it here. Come to think of it, we got Froggy and Chadhargis who own both types of bikes. What do you guys think?

I'm sure something along these lines could be done, but the Uly rear shock may not be the correct length or spring rate to raise the 1125 with its different frame and swingarm.

I'm really surprised nobody's done this swap yet. There is an 1125CR with an XB12S tail project thread in the 1125 forum; that's a step in this direction. Beagle_hog- will YOU be the guy that finally builds an 1125X?

I think there was a dealer doing 1125CR's with Uly fronts as an option. I think they got a note from the principal saying to knock it off but i think they looked great and worked nice from what was posted. I think you could do it. Post pics if you do

Shh.... The 1125CR + Upright bars + touring seat is more comfortable than a stock Ulysses.

I just need to figure out how to get the taller suspension on.... Oh wait I said too much : D

You need the Uly tail section swaped to the 1125 so you can easly mount the hard bags and have the Uly seat for your riding partner. I have both a CR and a Uly and I have sure thought about the swap however I like the controable power of the Uly motor on off road ventures where as the 1125CR has a lower 1st gear + instant power and it gets pretty wild on the gravel roads let alone the single track stuff.

Don't go too fast, Froggy and I found out that the air box cover screws are metric threads on the CR. The Uly's are SAE. Doesn't mean things won't work.....just look very closely before you jump.

Sufficient money and/or time make anything possible. I say go for it and see what happens. It won't settle the "1125X(T)" debate, but it would at least give us a new piece of data to argue about.
