My bike is in for some warranty work. The front isolator is failing and there is what I thought was an engine oil leak. It was evident on the case behind the rear cylinder (when viewed from the right side of the bike) and had begun to drip down onto the muffler.

I just spoke with the service department and they said it isn't engine oil...it's primary fluid. They said it was a "loose vent." I'm not too familiar with how the primary vents.

Anyone experienced a "loose vent" on the primary before?

Same thing happened to me - the bolt that the vent hose attaches to had backed itself halfway out. I took off the sprocket cover and managed to tighten it from the side, but it took forever.

Before finding the problem (while it was still under warranty), I'd had it into 2 different dealerships, neither found anything and just said it was "residual" oil that was collecting on my muffler.

I had a different but similar situation. I was noticing some oil spots on the rear fender and got worried it was the shock leaking. After several hundred miles I found the oil spots were coming from the transmission vent tube which is tie-wrapped to the upper shock mount. Only happens when I'm running hard for long distances in very hot weather.
Just a few small spots so it's nothing to worry about in my case.
