Just curious on that it's costing for purchase, install (including flash)?
Thanks

I recall reading the book rate for the kit install is 2.1 hours. So you are looking at $120 for the kit + 2.1 hours labor. At $80/hour, that would be $168. So $288 before tax and any other fees.

Buell recommends a new EFI calibration when having the comfort kit installed. Any info or suggestions?
I'm gonna call my dealer and have 'em order the comfort kit, I was wondering if I should order anything else with it.

Yes.

The RIDER COMFORT KIT is . . . well, think of it as a "system".

I did everything, followed the instructions, didn't try to re-engineer or out think anyone . . . just did what they engineered and it works spectacularly.

2.1 hours per the book as I recall.

Amazing how that works. You'd almost think that the instructions were intended to be followed and not just a challenge to find a quicker way : )

Is there a reflash for the ECM? I have the kit on order, the parts guys had me talk to the service department with a copy of the installation instructions the parts guy printed for me. The service guys kind of scratched their heads and said they at my next service they would hook up the bike and if HD Net said there was an update they would do it, but as far as they knew there wasn't an updated map or anything.

Yes there is a new ECM calibration for 2008 and newer models.

Show them page 18 of the 2010 accessory catalog, it clearly states there is a new calibration. As Froggy noted, though, it is only for 2008/09 vehicles. There is no calibration for 06/07 Uly's, nor for race ECMs.

My '06, though, runs like a champ with race ECM and comfort kit. : )

...and I'm one of those idiots. I tried to shortcut the underseat duct install and ended up with a cracked (but servicable) duct. S'ok, though. The way I look at it, new parts look out of place on my mudball.

+1! When I put the Uly flyscreen on my bike, it looked out of place as it was the only part of my bike that was shiny and not dented/scratched/mangled. Rear ending a car took care of that! : D

The download doesn't show up as a "Comfort Kit Download"on the Digital Technician and there are specific instructions that need to be followed. It's just listed as a stock download for the year bike so many HD techs/ service writers may miss it. We don't charge for the download and the labor is included as part of the install. It works very nicely- I've taken out Opie's under seat blanket and a few other heat management things I did because I don't need them anymore.

With my Uly being an '07, it may explain why they had no idea on the upgrade (plus they haven't done one yet).

Wayne-

You're gonna love the kit, reflash or not. I'm leaning towards NOT getting the reflash(the Buell website lists it as not required), nor have I had time to install the duct, but the RSS and header shield make a HUGE difference.

Thanks Mark... Even Jay was a bit unsure about the flash. Since my bike is an '07 it won't need it. Jay said he had one on order, so when when it came in they would apply it to my order. Just hasn't come in yet. Too bad too, I have time this weekend to actually work on the bike. Something that I don't normally have.
