Just got my Uly home yesterday, 800 miles in 2 days and had a great time. 2 thing I know I want. The comfort kit and a tank bag.

Regarding the tank bag I know Buell has 2, their standard bag and a Deluxe bag. Anyone use either? One is priced at $110 the other at $143. Would also like to take a look at any other bands of tank bags out there, as long as they fit and are functional.

Anyway what do you guys use?

Thanks

I have the deluxe bag and I like it. It has more compartments so I can keep stuff organized. It hold a lot too. It expands enough to fit an insulated jacket liner. I also lean on it to get out of the wind sometimes. It does make it difficult to fill up with gas and restricts tight turning, but any tank bag will do that.

I use the Explorer Lite from Wolfman Luggage, 4 point attachment and looks like it was made for the Ulysses tank.

I have been using the Wolfman Expedition for some time and like it a lot. Some times I wish I had an external pouch or two, but the thing is very water proof and I use it every day commuting. It is a pain to put fuel in it and when the bag is not on the bike the straps are a pain too.

I have a Marsee Mr Pockets since I bought the bike in Apr 06 and have no complaints.

Isn't the Marsee attached with magnets?

Nope, you can get the Marsee with a 4 point strap kit. If anyone would like to know where I got the bag from send me a pm and I'll reply with the vendor(s). They're not board sponsor so I won't post them here, just to keep the peace

I'm using a Marsee with strap mounts and am pretty happy with it - doesn't block access to the gas cap, comes with a shoulder strap, expands quite a bit. It's pretty heavy even when it's empty though.

Yes, my Wolfman has the four point strap system. It is a bit of a pain, especially when you are not using the bag and have to do something with the dangling straps. I also use Marsee magnetic bags on my Harley and they work well, but will not work on the Buell for obvious reasons.

My Wolfman doubles as my dog carrier for my little buddy too. Another plus

I've been pretty happy with my Buell Deluxe.
After my last trip though I found that one of the -
aw jeeze I have no idea what you call it...
connectors which attaches the removable front pocket had lost its backing piece. The bag is still useful, but that front pocket was a nice feature that I'll have to live without until I figure out how to fix it.

From looking at pics of the Buell bags it seems the map window is facing away from you making it hard to read a map.

I'm using the new Wolfman Rainier http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Tank/rainier.html It fits great using the 4 strap system. Lots of storage with the supplied external pouches.

I haven't had a chance to take pictures of mine yet, but I do want to illustrate how easy and clean the Wolfman attaches to the bike. The kit comes with a webbing and buckle arrangement that attaches cleanly the the frame rails just under the point where the seat and airbox cover meet. It's a little troublesome to hold the straps in place when putting the seat back on, but otherwise the buckles sit there snugly against that nook completely out of the way.
The front buckles attach via two well designed plastic tabs that are held in place by the two front airbox cover screws. The excess strappage can be either trimmed or tied up neatly out of the way. It's really a clean setup.
I'll get pix when I can.

Hangetsu and Liv2...is the Raineer easy to remove when you need to take it in? Looking for something that can come and go...easy enough. Also...it is a big 'un! Any fueling issues? Thanks.

I had few concerns on the Rainer until I got it. Fits great, looks great. Fueling is a non-issue. Easy to mount once you figure out how. I'll post pics this week.
