OK, this has probably been posted before but here goes. For 2010 I know that Buell added a heat shield and the optional scoop to the right side of the bike to help with heat. Question is, did Buell fix the noisy cooling fan? Any other improvements? I haven't been to the dealer yet to check it out. (Message edited by GS1100GK on September 14, 2009) |

There are about 500 posts on that subject under Comfort Kit. Search is your friend. |

The Comfort Kit significantly reduces the noise from the fan. The revised ECM programming on the 2010 model results in the fan running for much shorter periods after you shut the bike off. Two other big improvements- new rear wheel with 3 larger wheel bearings and external seals, DDFI III with separate oxygen sensors for front and rear cylinders. |

The cooling fan on my bike runs very little or not at all when shutting down the bike after a ride since installing the "comfort kit". Vast improvement over the previous set-up. The fan is still loud when it runs, but it's for such a short period of time, doesn't really matter.......... |

I recently installed the "Comfort Kit" on my 07. It used to run after shutdown when I arrived 10 miles at my job site, and when I got back home in the evenings. Now, it only comes on after my ride back home, I assume its b/c its warmer in the afternoons. BTW, I just came back from a 300 mile trip to Chilhowie, VA. The fan didn't come on at all until I reached my stopping point, and that was just briefly!! Props to Buell!! |
