Belt driven primary or maybe
automatic primary chain tensioner.

Stainless steel muffler.

50 lbs less somehow.

Another 10 hp and tq.

6 speeds with lower first and higher top gear.

Counterbalanced so mirrors are clear instead of buzzy.

70 mpg with ethanol

diesel option

GPS as standard

Wouldn't have to be Stainless to make me happy, I would settle for aluminized, like most auto manufacturers are using because they have to last for 100,000 miles. Powder coated would work too.

I rode my 2008 uly for 25000-miles and figure what's missing to be a real tourer is:
- a bigger tank with at least 20liters/5.3gallons so it can make more than 300km/187 miles. Spread an inch each side that chassis...
-Any kind of indicator to really know HOW MUCH GAS IS LEFT, when theres no enough gas stations on the road this becomes painful, impossible to calculate the remains when riding in high pressure where the bike top speed is 75-mph and consumption level rises randomly.
-ABS/intelligent brake so its stops gradually both wheels as it needs with one lever.
-Better insulation from the right side heat PLEASE! I will tolerate the left side heat on the right side, but summer is a killer, barely unusable.
-adjustable windshield brackets for sure, I use Madstad with a large windshield for long rides and works fine.
-Smoother idle in 1st gear, I found myself with the clutch half way too much.
-Free direct TV for campers...

Awesome bike, but of course, Buell doesnt read this...

Buell does read these - note that they made my rear pipe heat shield stock on the 2010 (but they did cheapen it by not going with chrome):

The X could get off road friendly wheel sizes.

The XT would be nice with an 1125 derived powerplant and maybe (though I'm not totally convinced) some additional weather protection.

I wouldn't be against losing the ZTL front brake and going to a more conventional system if a permanent fix for the front brake pulsating isn't found. ABS would be OK I guess. I've gotten through 35 years of riding without ABS but I can see the rationale for it.

my list is simple.
A larger fuel tank
some sort of optional cruise control
a real fuel gauge.abs option
I think the options should increase also.Different levels of bling is a good thing.
ON brakes, after riding the 1125cr the ZTL2 8 piston brakes work amazingly well, I think the XT should come standard with the 1125 engine a and 8 piston brakes. Give rider's the option of a true sport tourer.
The X should be more focused off road with a few minor changes. Steel underbelly to protect exhaust, stiffer suspension, true off road tires. those three things would make a big difference.

But most of all i'm pulling for a Uly 1125 sport tourer.

+1 ABS

separate the x and the xt more. X moves more in the off-road direction to be a BMW competitor
the XT stay where it is.
add a 1125ST to compete with Honda, kaw sport tourers with nice molded bags like the s3t

humm.....how about adding a goldwing competitor?

Serg- did you sleep through the 500+ post "Rider Comfort Kit" thread? Heat issues have been fixed for 2010 and you can add it to your bike for ~$120.

Wussy XT riders. ; )

For 2011 I'd like to see a tortuously uncomfortable seat, a lot more vibration, and a lot more heat!

Any of you familiar with B.O.B. ?
