The only real big thing on the 08's is the fuel mapping. 2008 debuted the new DDFI3 fuel injection system, and many reported issues related to surging and such. Your dealer can hook the bike up to the Digital Technician computer and check for an updated ECM calibration that resolves many drivablity issues. |

My '08 never had drivability issues, even with the original map. Mileage, however, did and does fall well short of Buell's published numbers. Even on all-day highway rides I rarely exceed 42 mpg. I am bulky and heavy, and I like to keep the tach around 4500, so that probably takes its toll on fuel efficiency. No other major issues for me. |
