I don't have the rider. I have a Tomtom 920 for my truck. It has the best routing system on the market IMHO. It's called IQ routing, TT gathered actual travel time data from users and built this into their routing system. It's even specific for time of day and day of the week. The problem I've had with TT is their programmers SUCK! Every time I get an update for my GPS is messes something up. I'd only get it if it has the IQ routing and then NEVER up date the thing.

edit: Found this on their website (you got me curious):
"Note: IQ Routes™ is currently only available preloaded on the TomTom GO 730/930 products."

It does come with a Cardio Scalia Rider Bluetooth headset which is very cool though.

I had a Tom Tom One. It died trying to be a GPS. It sucked. Could not program back road trips, not water proof, I found out it wasn't too vibration proof either!

It was fine for slabbing in the cage. Not up to the task for the Uly. Let us know how the TT Rider works out if you find out.

That's a good point. If you're going off road or doing forest service type stuff you may be better off with a Garmin 60CSx (what I have on my Uly) or the like.

The TOMTOM rider can do back road trips. But unfortunately, it's limited to a maximum 50 waypoints per route. I'd spend the extra loot on a Garmin.

Likewise, just about any Garmin is loads better than a TomTom. The TomTom I've got seems to work OK, but is terrible at figuring arrival times and updating....

Research the Lowrance XOG - the weatherproof GPS of choice for cheapskate riders everywhere (myself included).

I have the TomTom rider 2 and I pretty happy with it. I considered selling it and getting a Garmin then a buddy of mine wanted to sell his Zumo because he was sick of it leading him astray so we swapped for a few hours. I did not like the Zumo enough to warrant the expense and hassle of swapping systems.
The biggest thing with either of them is keeping the maps up to date, which is never free....

Prowler, update the maps to the new IQ type if you can. The calculated times on my 920 are dead on now. Really makes it like a new GPS.
