Im thinking about getting an autocom system for my bike, probably the logic or the super pro auto. Anybody got one on their bike? How do you use it with gps? do you need to get a bluetooth adaptor to link it to the unit? looks like it needs to be plugged in looking at the website.

Anyone got any pics of their setup on their bike? where you store the unit and feed the wires etc..

thanks
David

I am about to do the Autocom on my 09 XT, and speaking with Keith in Tulsa (who is the US distributor) we are going to do a tank bag set up. We should have it complete next weekend. We are going to run a line from the battery to the front of the bike with a plug and a plug from the tank bag with everything inside. It will allow it to be removed at hotels and be portable for multiple bikes.

I have one setup on my Uly but really can't hear well above 70mph. Great for around town with my daughter on back, talking, listening to Itunes. I have mine powered in to a power panel but then can't plug into the GPS (theres a fix out there for that). I can if I use 9v battery though. I need a boosteroo or something to kick up the music volume. I also don't know how to keep the mic from being activated by the wind (which is why the music must be hard to hear!)

I have used the Autocom system for 12+ years now and we use it on the race bikes too for pit to rider communication.
My setup use the Buell tankbag, I plug to my battery tender with a lead to the tankbag, where I split for power to my gps, electric vest, etc. I put the Autocom unit in the tank bag and plug the music, etc to it. I switch the whole setup from Uly to Firebolt easily.
As far not hearing well, speaker placement is critical, Autocom offers in ear speaker attachment leads too. EARific I believe sells in ear speakers.
Keith is a great guy, look for good things to start with him!

Ihave one and so does wife plus fellows that I ride with. I have XM radio GPS cb and radar detector connected. I use bike power but have a filter for the cb.I also use ear buds better sound than tv in the livbing room even at 90 MPH. I have GPS (w/built in XM radio) and radar detector on handlebar. They are connected so that radar detector overrides xm radio, through electrical connections box in the bag that fits in cross bar. I then have a very small tank bag with the autocomm and cb radio .

Coolice, Keith is an amazing guy. He is sooo passionate about Autocom. He is currently in England right now working with the owner of Autocom. We will take pics and post up our install.

Thanks for the reply guys, i got more sense from you than what i got from contacting the autocom site : )

Myzen..mines going on my 09 xt too, id like to see a pic of your set up when its complete if you dont mind.

Think i might go for the tankbag option too, sounds like the best idea, you can put it all away into the pannier too when you get off the bike.

Any recommendations of a small tank bag for it to all fit in?

Thanks
David

I do not know the name of my tank bag but it is just a tiny little thing. I had the big Buell tank bag but I think it is way to big.

David,

I've got a StarCom, which is very similar, set up in my Deluxe Buell TankBag. It works great that way. I installed ports in the front and rear of the bag, Cig lighter plug, iPod plug and GPS plug out the front port and headset cords out the rear (rider and passenger). I also mounted a remote volume control to the rear of the bag.

Davidxt, Keith has a Wolfman that he likes to use. I am going to use the Buell Deluxe bag. I will post pictures and process when we get it done.
