Blew a rear in to work today.

I am assuming the tool I need to undo the rear wheel is in the factory tool kit?

Anything else I should know before removing the rear tyre???

I do not have a manual yet. so... any pix or description on the belt tensioner etc. would be appreciated.

BTW '09 XT (red of course)

Yep tool is in the kit, looks like a 2 bolt heads put back to back with a washer in the middle of the 2.
Make sure you loosen the rear pinch bolt on the bottom side of the pulley side. I didn't see it for a couple minutes the first time I tried to take it off and it didn't want to let the axle budge with it tightened.
Good luck, I feel your pain I was in you situation 2 weeks ago.

I was only a mile from home so it was not too bad.
So, Pinch-bolts, tensioner, don't bend belt.
+ or - on the rotor depending?
can it be left on?

Also Blue or Red Locktite?
Locktite on axle shaft threads too?

VERY specific reassembly procedure required or you can mess things up. You should get the Manual asap. Someone will chime in with the correct procedure.

NO Loctite on the axle at all!!! Lots of antiseize on the axle, and I use it on the pinch bolt and brake caliper mount bolts.

I believe the manual says to remove the idler pulley.

I remove the two bolts that secure the pulley but leave the pulley in place. The little bit of "give" with the pulley bolts removed has been sufficient for me to remove/install the wheel/belt without forcing anything.
