I removed my front wheel this morning to have a new tire installed. The bearings are rough and notchy. '08 XT with red seals. 15,100 miles. I have a new set of SKF's (I bought them along with the rears that I replaced 4000 miles ago) so I'll have them put in by my mechanic when he puts the tire on today.

Checked the originals (NTNs, red/orange seals) on my 07 last weekend (~19,800 miles) and they still felt smooth as silk. It's always a good idea to check when you have a wheel off though.

I just picked up my wheel. One bearing was rough and the other still smooth. I was quoted $118.00 for the new tire, mounting and balance. He billed me $120.00. He put the bearings in for me for $2.00. Ya gotta love independents.
