I was wondering if only installing the RSS and exhaust shield, without the shroud would have any negative effects.

The only reason I ask is because, I ordered the comfort kit from Buell Parts, but it won't be in until Monday. I'm leaving on a trip on Tuesday, so I won't have time to install the shroud before I leave. I would at least like to get the RSS on though. Will there be any negative effects from this.

I don't think so. Lots of people are running right side scoops with no problems. Most have even reported their fans run less.

Not in the short run you are talking about. Go on your trip and install the ducting when you return.

The system is made to function in it's entirety.

Thanks, I figured something would be better than nothing.

I installed the RSS and exhaust shield first due to work/time constraints.

BIG improvement.

I already had Odie's "Maximum" heat shield in place, and after installing the fan ducting - I cannot say that I can notice much difference before and after.

Installation of the duct with the saddlebags/bracket removal included in the procedure hasn't really shown a benefit for me, but I'm glad I did it anyways.

Just hope I don't need a 4th fan replacement, though !

I installed the RSS and pipe shield with plans to do the duct when time allowed.

Even though heat hasn't been a big problem, I've ridden in shorts a few times without incident, the idea of better heat management was appealing.

On my first ride with the mod the biggest difference I noticed is seat heat. On a twenty minute ride from work, the seat was noticeably hotter than any time in the past.
Since I had ridden the prior two days on the same route in similar weather conditions without hot butt, I'm sure it was brought on by the new parts.

I'll be adding the duct soon.
