I have about 8800 miles and still running with the original 616 tires, the rear is just about gone, but the front has at least 1/3 tread left. I am not putting on the mileage I used to so it may be a bit before I hit 10k. But then again the Uly is my only transportation at the moment. I'm just wondering if I can/should wait till I hit 10k (or more) for the 10k service and just get a new 616 rear tire now, then stretch the 10k service out to 11k. New syncs probably within 5k after that since I am leaning more and using my front brake more....I mean.. I am riding with a bit more confidence now so they shouldn't last as long this time.

I should note that I bought this 06 Uly in Jan of 2008 as a leftover so I am will be under warranty until Jan 2010. The tires are original and old and even though it has meat on the front, the meat looks old and kinda shows it too. hehe kinda like ME! lol.

I guess I will probably get new tires 1st (syncs), then do the 10k service within 1500 miles of 10k but wanted any other opinions or reasons I shouldn't wait or get it all done at once > New syncs and 10k service @ 8,800 miles.

Thanks.

Don't chance your life on old tires, especially 4 year old ones with not much tread left.

Yea thats what I'm leaning towards.

Another thought I had was bearings... I wonder if I should go all out and get the upgraded black bearings installed as well.

man I know this is gonna cost me.

Mike ,
The bearing set from Buell is something like $16, don't know what they'd charge to install them but probably worth it.

If that front D616 is anything like mine was then it is cupped and causing your front end to feel anything but smooth. Just pushing my bike into the garage felt like I was on a rocky road. Changed the tire finally to Scorpion Syncs and it was like having a new bike and back to silky smooth. I wouldn't put free D616's on my ULY.

I'll take all the free D616 REARS you've got.
