My 08 Uly belt broke at 40k in the dealer lot after unrelated service, any one know for sure if the belt is covered by warranty? |

Its up to your dealer to decide, but if you got the stone guards on and its clear you didn't cut it, it should be covered. |

My dealer is going with not covered, but said they would call Buell customer service. |

Drive Belt Warranty Belts that fail on a vehicle within the 24 month limited warranty period due to manufacturing defect are covered parts and labor. Belts that fail due to stone/debris contact, while the vehicle is within the 24 month limited warranty, and it is equipped with either the original belt/stone guard, or a Harley-DavidsonŽ/BuellŽ Accessory belt/stone guard, are also covered parts and labor. Belts that fail due to incorrect installation, misuse, abuse, stone damage due to non-Harley-DavidsonŽ/BuellŽ stone guards, or normal wear and tear are not covered under warranty. My 2008 belt crapped out at just 16,000. They covered it without a hassle. |
