Lately I've been feeling a little "tired" of the Uly; after as many miles as I've ridden it (them) I guess that happens...

Anyway, this weekend went for a 508-mile ride in northern New Mexico, and at EACH fuel stop (there were three) people came up and raved about the bike.

That's never happened to ME before...it was just what I needed.

P.S. A Pilot Road 2 (rear) and a Sync (front) get along JUST fine.

There must be another Uly Renaissance going on or something. Seems like there are about 4 or 5 "I'm thinking about getting a Uly" threads on advrider right now.

Yup. Every one of the interested parties that chatted with me said they were going to look at a Uly, and I'll bet most of them will!

Maybe we're finally getting some respect. About time.

The last 2 days I've had 2 people come up and talk on about how they liked the uly, both were asking questions and crawling around on the ground looking under it and all over.

alright doc! I took a cross country trip in July, saw exactly 4 Buells in 6700 miles but as you said...everywhere I stopped....it was kinda like Radio Shack...

Happens to me all the time. A five minute gas stop turns into 15 minutes. I'm starting to feel like a preacher.

Add me to the 'I can't believe how many people know about Buells' list. Happened on a Tx to Ind to WI to Tx trip a few weeks ago. Buell fans, potential buyers, owners, curious people, etc, all wanting to ask questions.

In some perverse way, this is all probably a result of the Blast getting "cubed"...

A Strada rear w/ a Sync front play well together too.

I was on a Southwest flight from Maryland last week. I had a Buell logo shirt on. The flight attendant saw the logo and said " Buell motorcycles, aren't they made in Wisconsin?".

Aside from that, I always have people looking at the bike and asking questions. I do not see that happening to the ricers parked near me.

I was amazed at the group of HD riders gathered around my XT at the dealership! The front brake was a point of interest! Tickled me to no end!!

Kimberly - Have you ridden the 126 between Florence and Eugene? It changed my life.

Yep, I get noticed down here in New Zealand as well, Buell is that european? Never had a bike where people have shown so much interest, that to me is priceless.

I went through one of NC's infamous (unconstitutional IMO) license checkpoints the other day and after I presented my papers I heard one of the cops say to the other "that's a cool bike". Good feeling.

I really does give you a good feeling when someone notices your bike as being something different and something special.

Every day at work I park next to an 1150GS and a 1-2 year old Goldwing, invariably it's my Uly that gets the attention and questions. Sometimes its a PITA cause I just want to get on the road headed home at the end of the day, but at the same time..... it does feel good to be singled out.
Also, another co-worker bought a 1200GSA (he has 2 other bikes also, WeeStrom and a Bandit) recently and we decided swap bikes and go for a lunch ride together. I thought the GSA was nice, very smooth, and would make a dependable bike. When we got back to the office he had a grin I've never seen him have before. His first comment was "Wow, thats a hoodlum bike. What a blast. I'm glad I didn't get one of those instead of my GSA, I'd get my self in trouble." I've never said anything to him about his comments but they struck me as very strange....... He's glad he didn't get a Uly b/c it would be too much fun...... I shake my head everytime I think about it.

So does a 616 on the rear w/ a Sync on the front.

I'm putting my helmet and gloves away and getting ready to walk into the store when a young blond walks by and says, "Pretty bike."

I muttered "Thanks" as she walked on in, but I just stood there for a minute like a dork, thinking, "Pretty"?!?

Went on a 1000 mile jaunt myself & discovered that I like the Dunlop front too.
Rained hard from Flint to the Mackinaw Bridge & w/ Michigan's grooved highways felt like it was on railroad tracks.
Traveled highway speeds in driving rain w/o ever feeling skitish.
