It happens periodically. I like riding my '06 Uly(s) (65K miles so far) but I start getting tired of it. Like being married to the same woman for 35 years (don't tell Mrs. Greg). My cure has been to get some new accessory. Last time it was the PIAAs (hit deer immediately after). This time it will be the "Comfort Kit" if the stupid thing works (I have several photos of my blisters). But I'm also tired of my boots slipping off the pegs. Who makes the cool pegs for the Uly? P.S. Gonna take an extended GS test ride soon. Pray for me. --Doc |

The 09 pegs are nice and grippy from the few rides I had with them. The PreEng pegs look like some serious overkill and they also look like they would make short work of most of my boots, but I'm guessing it would take a good sized animal to remove a foot from one. |

I think these are the ones you're looking for: http://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid= 27&cat=5&page=1 By Precision Engineering, who is a Badweb sponsor. An alternative are the 09/10 Uly factory pegs, which at first glance look like black versions of the silver 06-08 pegs. However, they have a no-slip finish, and a sharper, sawtooth pattern to the "nubs" on top. http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=2&CategoryID=7&Produ ctID=4259 |

Tried the 09 Uly pegs - no comparison to the marvelous precision Eng version. Not even close! |

Precision Engineering footpegs are a great place for your shoes to sit. Grippy and wide platform for comfort. Got the very first set and haven't looked back. I think these are the best available for a Uly. |

I am a poor judge of "cool", but a good judge of function. Precision Engineering gets my vote. |

We put a set of the Precision Engineering Uly pegs on my wife's Ss. She absolutely loves them, and I'm going to put a set on my XT. If you get a set, you won't regret it. |

I like riding my '06 Uly(s) (65K miles so far) but I start getting tired of it. But a GS would be all too similar. Get something really different. If you want a BMW, try the K1200R, or one of the sport touring bikes. And you can't trade, you must always add to the stable!!! I have the same problem. I get tired of riding the Uly, so every other week or so I get on the Road King for a week. I like 'em both, but they are not the same in any way. I always thought one should have 4 bikes. a big touring rig, a bar hopper/cafe racer, a pure sport bike, and a real dirt bike. Haven't gotten there yet. |

The Prec Eng pegs leave your feet in the same position as the stock pegs. Not sure the Touratechs do that. Do they ? |

Didn't Touratech or Prec Eng make a 2" drop peg at one time? I looked at both sites and no longer see it. Am I thinking of another company? Cheers, Will |

But I'm also tired of my boots slipping off the pegs. Who makes the cool pegs for the Uly? The only time I have a problem with my foot slipping is when I get on the bike during wet conditions. I used a metal file and sharpened nubs and also filed some sharp points on the outer edge. Pretty cheap (FREE) and it works. But I would like a set of the PE's |

I ride daily and have been using the PE pegs for about 6 mos. - not too much extra wear on the soles of my boots. The pros of these pegs definitely outweigh the cons. |

I too have had problems with the stock pegs on my XT. I got caught in a 3 hour rainstorm on my way from Cleveland to Detroit and just about scared the sh!t out of my self cuz i could not keep my feet on the pegs! I wonder though if the PE pegs will have too much grip for road riding and interfere with my shifting. Plus, for the $110 buy-in, I could afford the comfort kit and attempt to modify the stock pegs...can't make them much worse! |

Just curious, I too have noticed slippery pegs and have wondered if spraying them with truck bed liner would work. Has anyone tried that and did it work? |

I drilled and tapped each footpeg for 6 small SS set screws, makes a noticeable difference, plus they are height adjustable. |

I got the PE 2" lower pegs and truly love them. They are longer and more comfortable and they are actually only 1" lower than stock since stock is 1" lower already. The increased leg room was welcome and the reason I bought them. I never had any slipping problems and I definitely won't now! Wouldn't want to ride bare foot on these things! |

Uh; I don't think I'd want to ride barefoot on any pegs. |

+1 on the Preeng pegs. Wish they had the 2" drop when I bought mine. No, they don't tear your boots up either. |

+1 on that smac....the Uly stock pegs ULTRA SUCK and are plain dangerous....are they still putting those pegs on the new bikes?? Hope not. I put the Buell Black Pegs on before I heard about the PE and the Black ones are the way pegs are supposed to be. They just work and you don't think about them. Recommended Have the PE brake and shift levers and they are real nice as well though the stock Buell ones worked fine. Doc, go test ride the K1300GT while you are trying out the GS. I too think the GS is much like the Uly. My buddy has one and we switch up now and then. AS much long distance riding as you like to do the K1300GT would be a dream ride. By chance, any pics of this mod?? No pics, I don't have the digital camera right now. Reading it back -- by height adjustable - I mean the set screws are adjustable to control the amount of grip, not the pegs themselves being height adjustable. |

I've never had my boots slip off the stock pegs, wet or dry, hot or cold. It is surprising the number here who seem to have trouble keeping their feet in place. I have been lazy a few times and had the road grab the outside edge of my boot in a corner, but that's a bit different. |

The stock pegs can be sharpened or (as I did) drilled & screwed in SS set screws. HOWEVER: they DONT solve the problem of mud build up between the peg nubs. I fell off the bike while mounting on the mud caked deck of the Mackenzie river ferry. The PreEng pegs are designed to let the gunk fall thru & provide a grip, no matter what the conditions. Just put 'em on and be done with it. |
