Just purchased a 2006 Uly with 9700 miles. I was just wondering where the best place around central WI is for service, TPS resets and such? Also how do you know if the TPS needs to be reset? MIne is kinda surging and a little boggy below 3k, after that it pulls hard right to redline.

Thanks for any help

Welcome Slinky and congrats! I am sure you will enjoy your new lady!

I can't say that I know the best place in central WI, but I have been to Appleton HD and Hal's. Hal's is by far the better choice in my opinion. The guys at Appleton are nice enough and willing to help, so I am sure basic maintanence would be handled okay; but if you have any big problems, they may not be the best. On the other hand, Hal's is probably too far for you.

Get a service manual, you will save yourself a lot of money if you do most of the service yourself. EcmSpy is another big help as you can do the TPS reset yourself. Do a seach for EcmSpy and you will find many threads on it. The program was canceled, but you can still get the software yet.

Slinky, I have been traveling up to Wausau for years now and the dealership there is under new ownership and they seem to be getting into Buells much more than the previous owners. The last time I visited the place they had a dozen new Buells on the floor.

I have never purchased anything from them or had them do any service work but with their commitment to the Buell brand, I would certainly give them a try since they are so close to where you live.

Hal's and Appleton are great Buell dealers also but just farther to travel.

just my $.02 worth.

Thanks for the responses. I am planning on taking a trip to Colorado with it at the end of August, so hopefully I can get any minor things sorted before then. I will probably go to Wausau HD for my TPS reset seeing as they are close. Does ECMspy work with Mac's or am I out of luck.

Hey Slinky, please report back your impression of Wausau Buell after you have used their service. Like I said in my earlier post, they sure do look like they are trying to make a go with the Buell brand and that is always welcome to see as a Buell owner.

If Wausau don't get it for you, I put in another vote for Hal's.
