Just purchased a 2006 Uly and (No, this is one of the things I didn't check when buying, shame on me) I can't seem to turn the rear shock preload knob. I can only seem to turn it maybe a 1/8 inch each way. Also looking at the service manual it states that their is a spring and check ball behind the knob, but when removing the knob their didn't seem to be one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I did a search before posting and could not find anything on this problem.

Thanks

My adjustment knob was difficult to turn when I bought my '06. I had to really crank on it. If the previous owner wasn't making regular adjustments, maybe it's just gummed up with dirt, etc.

I had the same thing happen when I tried to make a preload adjustment quite a while back. I sprayed some WD40 on it and turned the knob back and forth until it freed up.
I haven't tried to adjust it again for a while, so it's probably gummed up again, but I've got it close to maxxed out as it is !

Thanks for the replies, I will try and spray it tonight when I get home and try to work it loose.
