I live in Miami and will carry all the time on the bikes. Not a big fan of leaving it on the bike and a good rig will allow for a much faster deployment than the bag for me.

Favorite new rig is a monarch modular system from Andrews custom leather:

I built this lightweight officers model in 9x23 (pow'R balls at 1600 fps = 357 mag) just for punching holes in cages that present a threat. 10 rounds per mag = 30 rounds total with a cold steel tanto master San Mai III just in case.

Aussiebox, didn't your violent crime rate increase after the gummint banned your firearms down there, same as the Brits? Just don't move to CA... if you're caught with one round in one mag in the trunk of your car, even w/o the firearm itself in possession, you're busted for transporting a loaded firearm.

A fact lost in the arguments of the Banners, but disarmed law abiding citizenry are sitting ducks for criminals. Look what's going on in Mexico.

Oh wait I forgot, Mexico's violence is our fault...

Peace, Love, and Please Don't Hurt Me...

""I live in Miami and will carry all the time on the bikes.""

Hey Tread,

What happens if you go for a slide - which is actually more likely that needing a firearm - you end up having all of that crap pocking through your ribs.

Hey JB. I will take that chance.

The monarch system that I had built uses extra straps to hold tight and not flop around and my armored jackets hold it snug as well. So if I ever do go for a slide, I hope its on my ass instead of my armpits cause I really don't want mah crap to be pocking through mah ribs.

Oh geezus, here we go...

Honestly, isn't this topic best suited to private discourse?

I mean really, if some unsuspecting person stumbled onto this thread wouldn't it tend to endorse the "bad biker" stigma?
You know, guns and bikes...

Johnboy - nice glock. What's next? A holster for a 30-30?

Xbimm you are correct, they banned firearms and now there are more illegal weapons on the streets than before, bloody stupid in my honest opinion, typical pollie's jump to the mass's screaming for action ,but not thinking it out, some one was telling me the other day that they are now dishing out more firearms license's than before the whole bunfight.

I generally carry when riding, in a fanny pack. The underseat tray seems a secure place to stash if you can't carry in someplace. I'm thinking of strapping on a sword or machette so I can trim high weeds as I ride along.

Hey Tread,

Here's my favorite (inconspicuous) way to carry, while I'm working or in my vehicle - a gutted out Day Runner.
That way I can remove my jacket, whenever I want:

CLOSED

OPENED

I wonder which states don't allow concealed carry? I'd guess NY, CA, IL, and WI?

I'm in support of those who opt to carry. You all seem to take it seriously and accept responsibility. Although, I could see some sort of Uly rodeo where you ride by blasting at beer cans.

This subject came up once before, no?

Ejc,

As I recall, there are only two that don't - I'm lic. in 26 states, IIRC.

EDIT:
Correction - I'm licensed in one - but because of the reciprical agreements
with other states (and my training), I can easily apply w/ 25 others.

Johnnyboy777,

The two non-conceal carry states must be IL and WI,( my neck of the woods wouldn't you know). WI- I don't understand, with it being a whitetail mecca, hunting is more popular than fishing. It's always on the table with the state legislature. IL- you can't legally own a handgun in Chicago.

Well, it's not as if it were one of our 'Rights' outlined w/in the
Constitution of the United States of America, or anything.

Hey JB.

I had a covey franklin day planner like that but I realized for me, that it was just too far away sometimes.

I have this rig for riding without a jacket:

Different states have different laws when it comes to Carry License Reciprocity.

Here is the list I use to travel

Pretty Funny Dbird.

I remember watching Miami Vice on TV when I lived in Charleston, SC.
I used to think there is no way in hell that I would ever go there.

Now I live there...Go figure!

New York City has it's own laws. Try bringing one in here and you'll be here for a loooooooooooooong time.

I, before anyone takes a swipe at me, don't agree with it.

But it costs a lot of money if I even wanted to OWN a handgun here and the hoops you have to go through (my cousins permit expired and two days later they showed up at his house and confiscated everything . . over a year and $2,000 to get pistols back) it makes the good ol ball bat very popular.

I used to always carry my good old S&W626 in the pocket of a levi jean jacket. simple and effective.

Well, if you like to shoot and not just carry a gun, move to NH.
I drive a mile down the road from my residence and go shoot in the woods.
Actually, an old gravel pit that is ringed on 2 sides with neighborhoods. All perfectly legal.

Live free or die...ha!

JB

Dohn Humes built this one for me to fit one of my detonics combatmasteres in 45 auto and it is very comfortable. especially if you velcro a good boot knife to the inside.

Makes for a great and comfortable in the pants rig and it is still very quick on the draw.

I could not locate a leather IWB like I have for the 26.

I did find alot of the folks on the glock boards speak very highly of the Supertuck

It aint very pretty but they claim all day comfort and tuckable.

I love it when people wine about the content of a thread that is quite obvious from the title.....

That's a sweet carry rig Tread. When I carry it's on me, not my ride. Which ever ride that happens to be, cage, truck or bike. If it goes south, you probably are not going to be able chose the timing or place. I do have a long gun mount on one of my enduros though........for hunting purposes.

FYI, I heard on NPR this AM that there is a bill before Congress to mandate that concealed carry permits have reciprocity to all states, with each states CC laws applying to you when carrying there.

The bill doesn't stand a chance of a snowball in July (not counting this July...) but we can hope...
