How many Uly riders out there ride on the ice? What do you do to prep your tires and bike? Pics? Although, as Hugh said, thinking of ice in 100 degree weather gives you those comforting chills. I am getting close to a new set of shoes and was wondering if I could get away with my old syncs...if I pull them early so they have a little tread left. Kold Kutter screws seem to be the standard for just tool'n around, but will old street tires suffice? Some guys on advrider (Rockies) have a stud setting gun for ice tires. The Dunlops might work, but you probably need knobbies.   Tocramed Posted on Thursday, July 23, 2009 - 09:42 am:        Yeah, I am planning on picking up an off-road bike before winter; I will probably start with that. At some point though, it would be nice to get the Uly out there with spiked street tires. I have been doing some researching and have read that some use smaller tires inside the other ones, essentially giving you two layers. They can also be purchased this way; although the cost for pre-made ice tires is very high. The other problem I have had is finding spikes; plenty of screws, but no spikes.
